“what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?”

I read an article by a pastor who said this...
"so if you want to know about someone else your human spirit has knowledge, that’s not the Holy Spirit, the human spirit is nothing to do with God."

Any thoughts?
thanks

Heres what I see rather simply, that no man knoweth the things of man save his own spirit in him. Meaning you know your own "stuff" (so to speak) or "things" (or "thoughts" rather)

This saying is contrasted with the Spirit of GOD (to differentiate between the two). Theres the spirit of a man (that is in us) and theres the Spirit of GOD.

WHO can know the things of God save GOD'S SPIRIT (which is from God) right? Paul is showing the two and trying to show thats exactly what WE have been GIVEN OF GOD (HIS SPIRIT).

So its HIS SPIRIT (GOD'S) that bears witness WITH OUR SPIRIT (Spirit of MAN) that we are the children of God. "One bears witness to the other".

So its not of ourselves (the Spirit of man) we can know anything of God (of ourself) but through HIS SPIRIT that OUR SPIRIT can know anything concerning the "things" OF GOD. Its the Spirit of GOD (not of MAN) and I see these contrasted between the other concerning "which things" (or thoughts) we can know (whether of a man= our own thoughts) or whether of God= His thoughts (because HIS thoughts are NOT our thoughts or HIS ways not our ways).

So the "things" can be shown as "thoughts" (as a MAN'S thoughts) known by HIS OWN spirit) are NOT the thoughts (known by HIS Spirit) OF GOD. The gift in Christ is the Spirit of God (used interchangeably with the Spirit of Christ). He that hath NOT the Spirit of Christ is "none OF HIS".

Pauls distinguishing between the two (as I see it).

Thats just how I see it.

Peace

does anyone , save God and the holy spirit know the why, the motivation, behind what we do and when?

are not there some things, no one knows about you ... wife, kids, friends... screw ups, sins.... but you ?

are there not some things we did the right thing for the wrong reason or the wrong thing for the right reason , or the wrong thing for the wrong reason?

what appears horrible, hateful, and wrong to others, might be the symptom of an inner turmoil, battle, ...within ...

no one knows for shure, but your spirit and the spirit of God who will bear witness to your spirit ... right or wrong on the last day
