What does "new beginnings" mean to you?

The bible refers to "new beginnings". I thought today, January 1, 2008, a good time to begin reflecting on this topic.

What does "new beginnings" mean in scripture?

What does it mean to you personally or what has it meant to you?

Means letting bygones be bygones
As well as knowing that God is in charge
He is there to lead and guide us
Into a new year!

It means dying to anything that is not of God and being resurrected with Christ to newness of life. I've known this truth many times over the years and it usually works up to a crisis point within me before I let anything go, or 'die' to it. Afterwards, it's like being reborn, made new, set free... and Holy Spirit is so much more alive in me.

Lately the Lord has been calling me to a new beginning. It seems this often happens and it isn't just because it is a new year. I feel like I am being prepared for new things as I study the Word daily and grow in the community in which the Lord has placed me.

It is exciting as I wait upon Him.

And I know it is good!

New beginnings to me is recognizing the constant newness that is in Christ. There is no end to getting there. There is always a new level in everything we do. Just as there is no limit to the way He loves us, there is no limit to the revelations in Him we have in store!

New beginnings is not necessarily a place of comfort (we don't put new wine in old skins), but it is a glorious place: behold it, He will keep you as you begin anew in Him! PRAISE GOD!
