What does it mean to repent?

Hi fellow Christians,
I saw some threads about repenting ,and what does it really mean to repent?
I always ask God for forgiveness for my sins everyday,but every time i pray for forgiveness it gets less "serious". When i first realize how a sinful person i am i quickly pray to God for forgiveness and i really mean it not to do it again I was amazed how God has helped me discard the habit of masturbation and porn addiction I stopped watching porn/masturbating for 6-8 months after 6-8 months later i fell to temptation . Now I keep sinning (watch porn,masturbating,etc) everyday it became a habit for me. Now i almost watched porn daily and i repented but it seems like that i didn't truly mean it like the first time i ask God for forgiveness. I ask God to help me stop the addiction but I always fell to temptation and i can't control the urge to do it its been almost a year since i started to touch/watch porn again. How do you know that God has truly forgiven your sins and How do you know that you truly repented from your sins?

I heard when you repent YOU WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN but i keep falling into temptation. Does it mean that i didn't truly repent? since i keep falling into temptation and ending up watching porn and masturbating?

Please feel free to tell me how to stop porn/masturbating addict,I would like this habit to go away.

Well, Repent means to kind of Change your mind, and feeling remorse for sins, But in a way it also means asking for Jesus' forgiveness and cleansing with His blood depending on what you mean. Everyone has sins they deal with. If you have a sin that you cannot stop, and you feel guilty about but just cant seem to resist, then Keep praying. Ask God for a way out, tell him you want to stop but the flesh is weak. If you want my suggestion i say fast for a while, That is a spiritual tool to help you with that, trust me on that one. Fasting works

another thing, you can repent and still be a sinner, it happens to everyone. Jesus said in the bible somewhere "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak" Even though he was talking about something specific with a disciple, It still applies to us. God knows what you go through keep praying

Repenting is a heart thing, not a physical thing. While your repentance comes with physical manifestations, it is not hinged on what we do. Your repentance of your sins has brought about feeling "bad" about them. In my eyes (and the Lord's), you have repented and are washed anew!
