What does it mean to be in bondage?

Ok, today in church the sermon was talking about when we break the 10 commandments we can be living under bondage..

I am just wondering what does a bondage life look or feel like compared to living freely in Christ.. ?

My personal view?

A life of bondage is a life subject to the law of death and destruction - and a life of freedom in Christ is one that brings life in all its fullness, it is a life primarily of Grace.

I think living a life of lies supporting addictions, vices, affairs, ect. is bondage. You're a slave to it if it's ongoing. You always have to be on your toes to cover the next lie, you can never relax.

The opposite you are open, honest, don't stray, no vices. Bondage is a feeling of being trapped, scared, constanlty lieing (At least that is a form of bondage). And of course I am speaking from personal experience.

Maybe there is something to "the Truth will set you free". It does, it releases anxiety and worry and replaces it "His peace that surpasses all understanding". Praise God.

IMHO it looks like less than the full stature of Christ which is what we are supposed to be growing into.

This is what I think:
A life of freedom is a life living in FREEDOM! Haha! I know that sounds redundant but let me break it down for ya
When we accept Christ and live a life lead by the Spirit things that appealed to us before suddenly don't look as good.. they might look good.. but we have the strength to reject them because we know God is better!

Now..a life of bondage is a life of weakness.. of always failing in our own desires.. CONSTANTLY and not chasing after the One that helps us..
