(if you need to move this go ahead cause i dont know where this goes)
personally i feel a sense of coldness if i may say. i think i feel it because i love winter and the cold and the Lord knows that if i feel the cold that i feel good and healthy.
it comes with joy and many other things
it is a chill i just cant shake even if it is 100 degrees outside
and when i feel it i ask Jesus to bless me and feeling his presence all the time.
now i know that some people feel a burning and i am not going to debate that.

the cold just happens to be a very personal feeling
like when i am sick i keep it cold cause that's just what i do
like today i felt sick when i was driving around and i put my window down even though it was like 40 degrees outside and i stuck my hand outside

so what does it feel like to you?

I feel utter joy and eternal security.

The absolute calm in the storm..that point in your life where everything is messing up, nothing is going as planned, and you just sit back, take a deep breath, and realize that Christ lives inside you, and that when it's all over, you'll be with Him everlasting.

THAT is what I feel.

"No guilt in life, no fear of death."

I know that my sins have been crossed out by the love of Christ. That is the most joyous feeling you could ever imagine.

Like Chris said...I feel the calm in the midst of the storm.

When 9/11 happened and people were "loosing it" I felt that
peace inside...the reassurance that God was still in control.

I felt the same peace when the planes started flying again and
I had a trip to Canada all scheduled...I was at the Charlotte Douglas
International Airport when the first plane took off and cheered with
the others who were waiting for their flights.

I boarded my plane about an hour later...and all I felt was peace.
My flight had maybe two dozen passengers on it.

It's a strange feeling that I can't quite find the words for. A strong bubble of emotion deep inside me. I feel enveloped in the most inviting embrace, even though nobody is physically touching me. I feel warm and cold at the same time. I get goosebumps from scalp to toes and feel full of the cleanest air ever...I feel peaceful, but I also feel like crying because the feeling is so intense.

I've felt a range of things. Sometimes it's like an inexplicable joy, other times more like ecstasy for no apparent reason, like it has nothing to do with my situation as normal emotions would if that makes sense. Other times, when things get really tough, it is more of a burning: it's that same joyful love mixed with sorrow and pain, and it feels like anger but not the kind that makes you want to throw a fit, but rather to endure the affliction.

The holy spirit is not a feeling. The fruits of the spirit is not a feeling in the leg. Christianity today has made things all about feelings. If you get a feeling when the spirit is in you, does that mean everytime you don't have the feeling the spirit has left? The holy spirit is suppose to be in you all of the time and guide your actions. The holy spirit is not a drug that when you takes it gives you an euphoria. I have never seen any example in the bible where anyone describes a itching, burning, cold or whatever feeling due to the holy spirit.

Let me clarify a bit that when I talk about feelings, I am not talking about feeling peace or a joy in your heart. I am speaking about physical feelings, like that i described above. Why should the holy spirit making one person cold and another hot.

As has been stated the experience can vary greatly from one person to the next. A teaching I recently heard put it the best I've ever heard. The pastor said that being filled or baptized in the Holy Spirit would result in seeing greater measures of the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. More love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control (Gal 5:22) as well as more working of the gifts of the Spirit, whichever gifts we have been given. Not everyone has every gift, nor should we expect them to.

If you get strange feelings, it probably is not God the Holy Spirit but your mind trying to rationalize.

Too much emotionalism and not enough logic. True discernment takes time, not snap-of-the-moment sensationalism.

Have I personally experienced the Divine? I think so and I have valid reasons for it. However, these things are few and far in between, and usually those who experienced them needed to for some reason, so don't consider folks like me necessarily "lucky".

...not that I'm necessarily one of those kinds. I dunno; don't know what could have been and am only concerned with what is.

100% of all documented encounters with evil spirits are described as a cold chill, even room temperatures drop.......that would not be any spirit I would listen to

Too much superstition...

A truly demonic experience would be far more terrifying than that.

I feel really energetic, excited and happy. I feel totally cool and in control at the same time though. I guess I feel sort of crazy in a good way. It happens a lot when I'm playing music for people or even just playing one of my favorite songs for myself. It also happens if I'm helping someone with something.

I agree with PROPHECYKID and PaladinValer on this.

Feelings are not what this is all about at all. I get those feelings described many times for various reasons. And when I don't what does that mean? The Holy Spirit is gone?

I think we get caught up in the sensationalism of it all, peer pressure from TV Evangelists, Charismatic Preachers, and showmanship that have nothing to do with the Holy Spirit and every thing to do about ourselves.

I get goose bumps when I hear some thing odd some times, is the Holy Spirit doing some thing? I get over filled with Joy and filled with sorry, oops, Holy Spirit must not be there then.

In short, feelings come and go, the Holy Spirit is always there.
