  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Do you think god would ever put you with someone you don't want to be with? God keeps giving me this love for someone and I've gone from absolutely hating the idea of being with her, to being open to it, I don't find her physically attractive though, it's confusing? I don't know how god wants me to love her, I've begged him for an answer but he has said nothing!! Any ideas?

First of all God does not give you love. He gives you the capacity to love, but love is a choice you make yourself.

If God gave you love, he would not need to command that we love one another. But Jesus very clearly commands that we love one another and our neighbors. . . So therefore love is your own choice.

Now love is of course not always romantic and one can love many people in a non romantic way. And I strongly suspect that your love for this person is non-romantic. You may just have an attachment to them or feel strong connection with them. However if you are not physically attracted to them, then any attempts at making this a romantic relationship would not work very well.

To luther, Thankyou for listening, I'm around this woman quite often and Sometimes being round her, I can't explain it her face seemed to soften and she seemed quite attractive, then after say ten minutes, I saw her just as I have always seen her, I do feel empathy towards her because she has been through so much in life and I feel sorry for her and some of the things have been near to what I've been through and I guess to be honest, the idea of the knight in shining armour appeals to me, but like I said before I don't find her attractive and she doesn't need me, she needs more of jesus, I do get confused.
