Hey everyone,

I need some help answering some questions, but I was wondering...What does God want from us in our lives? We are supposed to follow in Jesus's footsteps, but what does that mean? What are we supposed to do? How do we live our lives the way Christ wants us to?

Thank you very much. I really appreciate it! I have been down the past few days and this will really help clear things up. Thank you very much!

God bless you all!

I think the most important thing God wants us to do is to love one another, tell the good news about Jesus' resurrection and form a relationship with Him.

He wants our love and respect and he wants us to follow his commands and just be comfortable with him and get to know him better. He knows everything about us but I find that I am frequently learning more about him.

I hope I answered this question right and that it helps you in your walk with the Lord.

God says: "My son, give Me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe My ways" (Prov. 23:26 -KJV).

Sincere seekers need to receive the Lord Jesus (God's beloved Son), our only Savior, and the One who should be Lord of our life. Pray much and let Him lead!

God's desire is for us to be saved, He wants us to accept the atonement Christ provided for our sins and trust in Him throughout every aspect of our lives...most importantly our eternal salvation. We may doubt sometimes but the sure foundation is that of Christ and His securing our salvation through His blood. We can doubt many things but never give up hoping in the power of His atoning blood for your soul. Believe and be saved through Jesus Christ.

He desires that we be free from all sin and bondage (as a disclaimer I still struggle with sin in my life), He wants us to be free from all evil that has a hold on us. True freedom is the ability to serve God unhindered by sin.

He wants us to treat others as we want to be treated, He wants us to love and show love to those around us...remember faith without works is dead, we must be made alive in Christ and spread His love to others through action. God's will is that we trust in His love for us with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and that we love others through His power working in us.

I take it that you have never done wrong? I put the disclaimer in there just for you. I struggle but God is merciful and he bears my imperfections, the wonderful thing is that His mercy is offered to me everyday despite my failures...in this world I will never achieve perfection but striving for it is a blessing that God gives to His children until the final redemption of our mortal bodies. I will not achieve perfection in my sinful flesh but I do desire it...can you say the same thing? Is moral perfection and holy character a part of your deepest longings? My heart has been changed by the grace of God...yours I assume has not...but may God bless you all the same.

Kevin you've gotten some good responses and I would add encouraging you to spend more time with Yahweh and deliberately focus on Him - reading and meditating (means focusing) on Scripture such as Psa 145 or play some music that's about Him and think about some of His titles, names, and attributes and sing a song to Him. Based on such Scriptures as I Thess 5:17; Matt 6:6; John 4:24; Psa 16:11; 46:10, 69:30; 71:23; and 100:4.

Following in Jesus footsteps is the union of God and man -- knowing that God is the provider of all Good in our lives and demonstrating that good to all humanity and the planet through our words and deeds. Jesus, the Word of God made flesh, is the example we are to follow -- selfless giving of ourselves with love and compassion for all. It's a lifetime assignment.
