I suppose the reason was, because this liberty beyond our hopes appeared to us; and that thence was the name given to that festival. Judas also rebuilt the walls round about the city, and reared towers of great height against the incursions of enemies, and set guards therein. He also fortified the city Bethsura, that it might serve as a citadel against any distresses that might come from our enemies. "
Josephus confirms above the understanding of the Jews of his time, who knew that Daniel had predicted the events of 167 BC, by Antiochus Epiphanes.

John 10:22 is a reference to the celebration of Hanukkah each year by the Jews of Jesus time.
Antiochus not only stopped the temple sacrifices for about 3 years, but also forbid the Jews to circumcise their children.
He attempted to convert them to the culture of the Greeks during this time.

This was part of Daniel's prophecy but Antiochus does not fit all the requirements of the little horn power like the papacy does and like the first beast of Revelation does.
Did the Papacy come out of Greece, and did it divide into four parts as did the kingdom of Alexander and his four generals?

No, that's Daniel's prophecy related to Greece and Alexander the Great. The little horn power comes after the Greek and Roman powers and is unlike the other powers.

Why shouldn't I? What's wrong with it? Stating that "modern times = End Times" just about sums everything up...Is that the belief you've accepted?
According to my Preterist interpretation, 1500 AD marked the end of the Millennium and onset of the End Times (Rev 20:7), "right on schedule" at the beginning of the "8th Biblical Day" (=8th millennium) from Creation around 5500 BC. According to the Secrets of Enoch (33:1),Again, the little horn power criteria only totally fit the papacy, not Diocletian.
