Hey, there's not much discussion here, just story and poem posting, so I thought I'd ask a question... just for some variety...
What kind of writing do you do most? What kind do you do best?
I've tried to experiment with different sorts... fantasy, adventure... but it all comes back and ends up being a sentimental-type short story. I don't know why that happens, except that it's easiest for me to write about the things I've personally experienced, and I really haven't experienced any fanasy or adventure in my life. For example I've written about two sisters... and about a sister and her brother... and so on, fairly normal stories that could actually happen but that still make you stop and think for a minute.

That's sort of a hard question. I'm still in an experimental stage, so I'm not really sure. But I don't think I do action/adventure very well because I often have a hard time not getting too extreme in what happens. Fantasy I want to try, and I hope I can write it. So far, what's been easiest for me to write are real-life type stories. I'm not sure why, they just are. They don't even have to be about anything I've experienced, though I always prefer that they have at least one emotional moment (and I often like emotional climaxes).

I write in my online journal (you can see it if you wish, you can get to it by clicking on my username I believe) everyday about my struggles with depression, anxiety, self-injury, anorexia, and life in general. Some people tell me that some of what I write is poetry, but my sole intention is never poetry! I think I'm such a bad poet! lol. If you do look at my journal please know that it is very emotional and might be hard to read because I am very blunt and forward about everything I go through - I write in alot of detail.

Take care,
Briana

depends on my mood. My current Big Project is a cross between an Action Adventure story, a christian Fiction novel, and a Romance book. I've got some other things going, from Fantasy, Tragedy/Angst, and Sci-Fi.

Sci-fi and fantasy definately. I wrote a Star Wars fanfiction and I thought that I wouldn't enjoy writing the dogfights but that ended up being one of my favorite parts! Action scenes come easier for me than emotional scenes, but I think I'm getting better at more subdued things. I also like writing villians and scummy characters. In fact, I like writing the baddies more than the good guys. I guess that's why a lot of my stories tend to be really heavy on the bad people.

I also enjoy unreal things. Weird planets completely different than ours, odd aliens, etc. And dragons! Dragons are great to write whatever role they play. :)

I write a lot of children's stuff. I write a lot of Dr.Seuss-y type stuff. I am hoping to get some of it published eventually. Working on it.....

I also write some serious poetry. I have several patriotic poems, and a couple I had to do for school. I have written a few short children's stories, but my poems are better. Things called
"There's an Alligator Hiding Behind my Bookcase!" And "Lovely, Lovely, Chicken Feet!" :D

I write lots and lots in my blog (there's a link in my profile, on the off-chance that anybody's interested). I composed a post not too long ago and shared the URL with my junior high pastor, who thought it was really good. One week and a few e-mails later, and BOOM It's going to be published in our church's weekly newsletter this Thursday (and our church is big enough to have a weekly newsletter, so thousands of people will be reading it).

Aside from posting here (as well as on some other forums), I really only write short stories. Well, I do try and write novels, but I never seem to get past the first page. All of my stories and "novels" take place in modern time.
