Hey there!
So this weekend my Husband and I are going Go-Karting. We like to do one thing every week together just for fun and we take turns in choosing the event or activities. Surprisingly I've really gotten to love paintballing and go-karting and my husband really really enjoyed horse riding through a forest.

What do you guys do together for fun?
Has it taught you anything new?
How often do you guys make it a "date day/night"

Just for a bit of fun.

Well this weekend we are going to Indianapolis.

Intention is to visit the zoo, explore an underground cavern, and visit a winery. Maybe also do hiking but it might be too hot for that.

Wife and I like to hike when the weather is good and we have the energy.

Fun? What's that? lol

Sad, but kinda true, we spend most of our time working and raising the kids and taking care of the house, it leaves little time for fun together as a couple. Like alot of older couples, we have some shows we enjoy watching together and like getting together with other couples for game nights.

We love being on/near the water, so a lot of our extracurricular activities are centered around water-related stuff.

We don't get much one-on-one time since we have kids. But, we do try to get out at least once a month or so. We actually had a bit of a tiff on our last date b/c we couldn't figure out what to do and I was getting irritated b/c he wouldn't make any suggestions. lol

So, I'm going to have us both sit down and list some activities we enjoy and then make a "date jar" and write the things down on slips of paper to draw from when we have a date day/night arise.

Older couples????? You're not older!!!! lol

I can relate, though - it's a struggle for us to find the time, too.

Hubby and I LOVE to hike. Unfortunately, the weather here only offers good times to hike...for maybe one month in the summer. He works on Saturdays some times, so we've only been able to go hiking once this summer so far. We plan on going again soon though. Cause it's beautiful and romantic and fun and healthy and with him, all of my favorite things combined into one event.

We also play a lot of X-Box 360. lol. I'm mostly a Halo girl, to be honest. He plays whatever he can get his hands on.

We like some board games, but not many. Yahtzee and Bunco are my favorites, but hubby has never played Bunco before. lol.

We also love to watch movies. *shrug* We're movie buffs.

We try to go on a date every week, though sometimes it doesn't work out. Hubby still doesn't get that Taco Bell and a movie at home would be enough of a date for me...Trying to work on that aspect. lol.

Believe it or not...shopping. We love to shop. It amuses me to think that I married a man who loves to shop, but it is the truth. lol.

My wife and I occasionally enjoy a game of "Guess which thread in the Married's forum will descend into an argument that relates nothing to the original post next!" It's great fun!

Seriously, my wife really loves small towns, so we will travel to small Texas towns for festivals and such there. Some small towns have really really fun festival traditions. We also like movies and.....hmm.....I suppose that about it.

We go for a long bike ride every Sunday morning. Our longest bike ride to date has been 14 miles, but we are waiting for the city to finish connecting up some of the trails, because when they do we will be able to double that distance. We also go to Starbucks afterwards for a drink, and a snack, so that we can talk about our ride, and whatever else we want to talk about. It's *us* time that we really enjoy.

We have recently acquired some handguns, and we are planning to go the range at least once a week, probably Friday evenings, and then as a family during the weekend. He is teaching me a lot about weapons and I enjoy firing the guns, and he enjoys talking about the guns, so he talks while I fire, hee hee.

Other than that, we go out to dinner as a couple at least a couple of times a month.

The great thing is that the boys are old enough now that we don't have to find babysitters or beg the oldest boy to sit in with them, so we have more freedom than we have had ever before.

We just spent an entire day in Niagara Falls yesterday with the kids. It was a lot of fun but there were SO many tourists that we had to constantly keep an eye on the kids, especially our autistic one. I would like to go back, just hubs and myself so we can kinda re-live our honeymoon. The only time we actually were together were for quick pictures. Other than that we'd holler at each "where to now?" or "washroom time!" or "we're going on this ride now!" things like that that make daytrips so super fun.

Hubby reminded me that he still has a gift card for a restaurant that he earned at work. We might drop the kids off and go out this weekend.
