Jesus knew before and after in the flesh, I am certain.
Because it says in St John He returns to His glory with the Father.

I look at it the same as I see my own life. Nobody knows the time... in any life, so if it's mass end or just our own, if we live life for the Lord... we will be absolutely pleased being with Him in Heaven.

Pray pray pray... because we don't know anyone's end.

The end of the world as we know it can equate to death as well .its important for us to keep our lamps filed and look at it in that perspective too. I think Christians across the board throughout history have been able to see the signs of their times as far as good versus evil but fail to see the complete picture of what that means. From what I’vd read from Scripture , we are appointed to die once. The only exception I see is Enoch. I’ve heard many views on this in Protestant circles since I used to be one, but it seems people are too reluctant to explore what that really means in as far as the early church belief and History. Enoch is supposed to return as a witness and be killed.

I very much feel the same way.
And that now is the time for intercessors to be praying heartily.

We see in the news nearly every day now, stories of persons of all ages just dropping to their deaths ("sudden death syndrome").
There appears to be no forewarning signs that many of those folks experienced.
That means some probably did not have much time to be spiritually prepared for their deaths.
How very tragic.

My guess? I hedge it a bit. I'm about 80:20 for this being the end. Days, weeks, months, a few years? I donno. But at my age I don't have that many years left anyway, so preparing for the end of the world and preparing for my death are similar. I'm starting to cram for the final. And I think that's the right thing to do for all of us.

I agree. The Catholic Church has never taken an official position on the various eschatological views (as far as I know anyway), I haven't seen that program but I imagine that's sort of what the arrive at.

I agree with @chevyontheriver, there's definitely been an alarming amount of social corruption akin to Sodom and Gomorrah but at the same time every generation thought that way. It's hard to believe it can get worse, but I'm sure it can so I balk at saying "this is it!" However, I could be resistant to that just because my ex-wife's mom was always saying it was the end, and giving reasons why, and the constant state of fear made me want to resist any eschatological talk at all.

It's a tough subject. The Church in all her wisdom gave us the best advice: focus on growing in holiness and building a relationship with Christ because our judgment is nearer than we expect, one way or another. Either we die and we'll arrive at our judgment then, or Christ will return and it happens then.

Where is that about Enoch?

Where is that about Enoch?
Genesis 5:22-23
After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. (NIV)

Genesis 5:24
Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. (NIV)

Hebrews 11:5
By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: "He could not be found, because God had taken him away." For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. (NIV)

We know the Lord is PATIENT with us.
I think it will be when all faith is gone. Or a great majority.
Then again, I am pretty exited about Heaven. Our fears come only from self which if told too many times we're this or that can make us dread... and fear.
Yet persevere and pray for graces... for the Holy Spirits graces take away fear of death.
So this is one of the reasons people are willing to die - martyr for the Lord. They don't even feel the fears not because they're super human but because the Lord already lifting them they just need to shed the skin.

So the Lord says look up... basically, your soul will be prepared if you live each day in spirit with the Holy Spirit.

I meant the part he returns and gets killed...

The book of Enoch written in the second century is gnostic. Outside of that we don't have a ton of knowledge. St Jude via Jewish tradition quoted some, but he wasn't detailed. Hence the gnostics came and created a whole thing from a quote.

Read about the 2 witnesses during the end times in Protestant theology. I’m aware the Book of Enoch is gnostic but I’m talking about Enoch himself which is in the canon of Scripture I posted previously.

Jude 14 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

IT actually agrees with the 'cloud of witnesses' and 'the saints will judge the nations' which is so so so Catholic....

Genesis 5:24

Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

Hebrews 11:5

By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God.

2 Kings 2:1

And it came about when the Lord was about to take up Elijah by a whirlwind to heaven, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

1 Corinthians 15:51

Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,

1 Thessalonians 4:17

Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

This should give you a general idea what I’m talking about:

Why did God take Enoch and Elijah? The Bible does not specifically give us the answer. Some speculate that they were taken in preparation for a role in the end times, possibly as the two witnesses in Revelation 11:3-12. This is possible, but not explicitly taught in the Bible. It may be that God desired to save Enoch and Elijah from experiencing death due to their great faithfulness in serving and obeying Him. Whatever the case, God has His purpose, and while we don’t always understand God’s plans and purposes, we know that “His way is perfect” (Psalm 18:30).

FWIW - this may be when He sends out His Holy Spirit to renew the face of the earth and hopefully convict and open up consciences... and again the dragon will be chained up.

:sorry: I'm far from an expert on any of this. I'm just praying the song - Send out Your Spirit and renew the face of the earth...
And it says Revelation 20:
English Standard Version
And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,

Not saying Revelation is in order. I'm just as clueless, but I pray and offer up Mass for these intentions and the reunification of the Churches so we have solidarity to show the folks who are so confused.

So much to pray for... :crossrc:

Moses appeared with Elijah on the Mountain. So there's that.... so humans can speculate on the two, but Jesus already showed the Apostles. So Moses has a fairly good vote for one witness. Just thinking.

Enoch was taken, and St Jude commented on all the witnesses of saints coming when the Spirit will convict minds IMHO in Revelation and chain up satan, IE a revival might happen.

The Lord is slow to anger and He grieves loss more than He would relish in it.

The Lord wants us to love enemies, because He loves them. His Sacred Heart is broken. He wants us, even if He doesn't need us. He's the ultimate unconditional LOVE more than a parent we on earth cannot comprehend.
He is LOVE.
