I think they should suffer the same penalties as anyone else who would commit the same crime would be. makes no difference who they are or where they came from.

I agree, and most people would go to jail for committing fraud like that.

I wouldn't vote on punishment in the absence of detiled information. It depends of course on what each individual did, but I would certainly say that the rnage of potential sanctions should include prison time, assuming clear evidence of embezzlement, etc. The real problem is that in wuch white collar crimes, the responsibility for such decisions can be so diffused that it is difficult to isolate any particular culprit(s).

They should be made an example of . This cannot be allowed to go on happening. They should be placed for the rest of their lives in the worst cesspool of a prison that we can find.

Too bad I couldn't vote for more than one choice! I would have chosen "Go to jail" AND "Pay restitution." I think that these two choices would be thoroughly just and fair. Stealing on such a large scale should be a serious crime dealt with in the most stern and sober way.

Amen to that! I live in California, where the state owes a HUGE bill to Enron (and several other electric power marketers) because Enron was manipulating the deregulated market.
As far as I am concerned, they should be forced to publicly apologize and pay back what they have stolen from our state (and from us when those power bills were beyond belief!)

The question is what should happen to those guilty of fraud.  The answer for fraud is the same for any other crime; Trial, and time if found guilty.  Those who have suffered an injury should sue.  Simple.

Fraud, theft through deception(destroying people's security for retirement) is robbery, CEO's just use different weapons to hold people up.
