I love the music of the band Judas Priest. Although the name of them is bad, as well as some words in their songs, I still love their music.
They're the best heavy-metal band, ever. Although older-people tend to hate all that screaming, like their parents hated Elvis, I love it. It's my generation. I'm going to see them on Sunday in Vancouver with Anthrax.

I have struggled with my old metal music for years. Finally, back in July or so, I laid it down. I just got to a point where I felt it inhibited my walk with God. Personal conviction did it for me. I've switched to pure Christian metal. It is hard to satisfy that need for old metal, but there are a few Christian bands out there.

I find it hard not to tune in every so often for some Metallica, JP, Ozzy and such.:D

I guess I would have a hard time playing Judas Priest if Jesus came to visit this afternoon... especially their song "demonizer"...

Did you know that the song

'demonizer' , says:

'out, demons, out' ?

I saw the concert in Vancouver,
on Sunday Oct 23,
and they were AWESOME (as well as Anthrax).
However, I didn't think much of Rob Halford 'ascending' upwards, with flames about the feet, at the beginning.
The atmosphere felt pretty 'roudy', as well.
As for the music, I'm glad I went.

Great track, best middle 8 I ever heard. That British Steel album was awesome.

Theres another great track on there called 'Metal Gods' (nothing to do with religion BTW, just a warning about machines taking over the earth). At the end of the track they wanted a sound effect to represent these machines walking the earth and they couldn't find one, so they went down to the studio canteen, put all the knives and forks onto a metal tray and recorded them being shaken about.:D

Fave track though is Green Manalishi. Evening Star was pretty good as well.

So Kudos to Priest, but still no match for Status Quo.

I'm with you, bro. I was a huge Rush fan. But so much of their music is atheistic/humanistic that it now turns me off.

I introduced my six-year-old to Iron Maiden today, though...

Rob Halford also had a band called 'Halford'. They backed up Iron Maiden, on on of their tours.

Regarding the Vancouver show on Sunday: Victim Of Changes sounds as good as ever (yes, Rob can still scream) , and they did a wonderful accoustical version of Diamonds And Rust (originally written by Joan Byez) .

They also did 'Riding on the wind , Turbo lover , Beyond The Realms of Death (finally, something from Stained Class, live) , You got another thing , for leather , Electric Eye (the show opener) , Livin after Midnight ...

P.S. Anthrax is right-on .
