God knew you before you were born. He knows everything about you and loves you for who you are. You are a special and unique creation from his hands. He know's your needs now and in the future and your heart will not rest until it rests with him.

God understands... Take it to him in prayer.

That would be my advise to a troubled teenager.

And...I think all teenagers are troubled. It is a rough time of life, if not the roughest.

Basically, that God loves him/her totally and unconditionally. That He may not always like everything they do, but that does not stop Him loving them - and whenever they may decide they need Him, He'll be there waiting to welcome them home and deal with whatever needs dealing with to enable them to enjoy His love forever.

as a teenager going through way too much stuff, a friend of mine said some stuff to me this weekend that really helped me a lot. basically the main thing he said was: it's all temporary. being a teenager is not cool. you're in that transitional stage. you're not a kid anymore, but you don't have all the responsibility or freedom of being an adult quite yet. but basically what he said to me was, even though it sucks, just trust in Christ, because these teenage years are temporary. this life is temporary. God is the *only* truly lasting thing we have, so we need to focus on that, and not let other things get us down too much, and distract us from that fact. and he also told me that things do get better as you get older. he just graduated from college, he's going to be 24 next month. he told me people aren't quite as stupid as they get a little bit older, they grow up some. anyway, i'm not doing justice to what he told me, but that's the general idea of it. it really was a tremendous encouragement to me, along with some other things he said.
