  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well I've gotta give that an :amen: !

Certainly some folks take love for Fido too far. While some people just treat their pets what I'd label a little odd, i.e., expensive dog beds that look like miniature people beds, diamond collars, and of course those adorable-yet-goofy outfits, that's not what I'd call "too far." I've seen people put a pet's welfare above a spouse's or children's, or spend thousands of dollars they don't have to spend on vet bills to try and treat fatal conditions. That's just a little bit.... But hey, who am I to judge?

My only concern is when people treat their pets like royalty, and then something occurs that winds the pet up in another home where they receive mediocre care at best, making the rehoming process even more difficult and confusing.

But hey, a spoiled animal is better off than one without any love at all!

Blessings,

We just lost our dog that we had for almost 13 years. I find it rather strange that she died the day after I moved out of the house... but anyways. I think some people get too obsessed with their pets. My grandfather and step-grandmother base their schedule around the dog. Our family will have parties at each other's houses about 5 times a year, and they ALWAYS leave early because they have to go feed the dog, or they are afraid the dog might get lonely.

I spoil my pets, I'll admit it. And yes, my dog does wear clothes, but he's a Toy Fox Terrier and they get cold during the winter, so I have an excuse. :) I do tend to treat my pets like my children, but I don't have kids & don't want them, so I have to have something to spoil. I think people can sometimes go too far, but to each their own right?
