What do you mean "Non-denominational"?

I am non-denominational because I don't believe in any one denomination. And before someone says by saying i'm non-denom, i've picked out a denomination already....the absense of something doesn't mean it IS something.

I just find that many other denominations make up their own rules that are not even scripture. (assemblies of God actually believe that dancing is evil and leads to sex...it's in their official statements and that is utterly stupid)

I'm non denominational because I don't believe it matters what denomination you are or what church you go to, but rather having a relationship with God. Some denominations insist that you have to belong to them to be saved or to truly know God, and I couldn't find this in the Bible so I became non denominational. I don't know, maybe I'll choose something in the future.

I go to a church called Harvest Bible Chapel, which is apparently an evangelical/non denominational church.

Hey, you learn something every day! I also did not know what that term meant. I signed up as non-denomination, but since reading all the posts, have discovered that the church I attend is really a Word of Faith church. I didn't think it was backed by any denomination per say, and I still am not sure if it is, but almost everyone who attends came from a different church backgrounds. Even the pastor grew up in a Lutheran church. So, what a great question.

Well, now how do I go about changing my little icon to Word of Faith?

As I was filling out what denomination I am, I kind of had a hard time with this one myself. I grew up in a Baptist Church but the church I currently go to is called Evangelical Free.

Basically, it means that we study the Word of God and follow that. I am definitely a Christian (believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection).

I just don't stand on a denominational name...just the Word of God.
