I agree with you on this one. A submissive woman can give off a powerful feminine aroma. I do feel uneasy and guilt ridden about these attractions though, even more so than my attraction to women in pain. My childhood was diverse. I like to say I grew up in a conservative home and a liberal public education system. My exposure was to both sides of the coin, and I always favored towards liberalism as a child and teenager.. especially when considering men and women. Saying this, I have experienced a lot of phoniness from both the conservative and the liberal side. From my observance of many conservative relationships I grew up around the man was leading and the woman was following on paper and in public appearances but from behind the scenes the relationships was much more egalitarian. Often going the other way around where the woman was ultimately bossing the man around. The man "decided" only if the woman agreed.. and often times the man just gave into whatever the woman wanted. It would only be presented to others as the man's "decision". I believe this charade was done in order for the man to feel "masculine" and the woman "feminine". The relationship usually ended with the man slaving away at work all day while the woman was being lazy around the house doing the "hard" work of watching the kids.. and nothing would change even when the kids became older and no longer had to be watched over. I never want to end up in a spot like that. On the liberal side you have feminism where equality and the strong and capable women are desires on paper and idealized in media representation, but the reality often boils down to the woman acting like a hyper victim and the man taking on more and more accountability. This dynamic doesn't scream 'challenging gender roles' to me. The man is still engaging in the parental role and the woman the child role.. and in some cases to an even more extreme degree than many conservative relationships. I never want to end up in a relationship like that. Grinning my teeth and trying to delude myself into thinking I'm actually being progressive when I'm not. I do not see how so much cognitive dissonance can result in a loving relationship. Finally there is the in the eyes of many the perverted and psychologically damaged people of the kink/fetish community. A major theme there being the dominate man and the submissive woman. In my opinion this is the scene with the highest degree of self awareness and honesty displayed. There are certainly issues in the community.. But this is the spot I'd rather be in.
