  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I mainly read the Complete Jewish Bible... but I do read from other translations sometimes.

Have you checked out the UMJC & MJAA on the web? Have you read our FAQ's on this forum?

After you read that stuff, feel free to ask us specifics... MJism is such a deep thing... it would take all day to explain everything! :)

I read the same Bible as most folks do, the KJV, NIV and few others. I also read the Tanak, Stone Edition. Tanak is the Jewish version of the "Old Testament".
There is very little difference.
You will get more difference between the varying Christian translations than you do between a Christian Bible and a Jewish Tanak.

I read all version of the bible, KJV and RSV being my favorites. Presently reading through the complete jewish version to see if it gives me any more insites, but think of it more as a glorified NIV.

I think what brings us together is a love for Torah. The first five books of our bibles tends to get excluded from mainstream teaching in Christianity.
Second I think most of us respect the hebrew roots of our savior and Lord. We desire to understand his teachings more fully in the context of his life and traditions.

I'm sure on many subjects you will find we have as many opinions as we have commentators...and some.

For ever MJ there will be at least two opinions...LOL
