  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I was just curious to see what good devotionals any of you have read. A friend and I just decided to be accountability partners next semester at college, so now we're looking for a good devotional to use. Does anyone have any ideas?
Charles Swindoll has a good daily devotional, also Billy Graham, Max Lucado, and Jack Hayford. Oswald Chambers has one called "My Utmost For His Highest," which is very very good. I just received a Lawrence Richards "Devotional Commentary" which is very good so far. I hope I have been of some service.

I have enjoyed both of JOni Eareckson Tada's devotionals!! Kay Arthur has a good one called, Speak to My Heart, God. Maybe you can find one that is pertinent for college age?? The Purpose Driven Life would be a good one for you to read together. My friend and I read that one together and talked on the phone at night about it. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your ideas. I really like Max Lucado's stuff that I've read - he makes great analogies to explain things. I've heard "My Utmost For His Highest" is a really good book. I've read "The Purpose Driven Life" two times - that's a great book and may be worth reading again, but I don't know yet. Any other ideas would be great also .
