If you want to talk about what you're listening to these days...you've come to the right place! :) I've got three favorites at the moment:

Livin', Lovin', Losin': Songs of the Louvin Brothers
Dressed In Black: A Tribute to Johnny Cash
Lonesome, On'ry, and Mean: A Tribute to Waylon Jennings

All three are full of great music, plus a pretty good variety of artists, so I never get bored. Also, I got Gretchen Wilson's CD as a gift the other day and it's pretty good too!

The two cd's I am listening to currently are both instrumental stuff.

Randy Howard -- ("I REST MY CASE") -- fiddler "extrordinaire" who passed away (at 42) several years ago. He played with EVERYONE in Nashville, and was the ultimate studio musician. He was the "fastest gun" ever on fiddle, and showed Allision Krause how to do bowing techniques, back in 1984. He influenced an entire generation of fiddlers.

And also listening to:
Bryan Sutton -- ("BLUEGRASS GUITAR") -- lightning quick leads, flawless performance, and thoroughly enjoyable music. Stuff that even I can try to pick along with!

That Bryan Sutton is AMAZING! He is a local boy done good and I have followed his career since he was a high schooler. He is too hot for his own good.

I have in the CD player:

Garcia/Wales "Side Trips, Vol. 1"
Steep Canyon Rangers (self titled)
Ricky Skaggs "Soldier of the Cross"

Country LPs in the Winamp
Loretta Lynn - When the Tingle Becomes a Chill
Loretta Lynn - Back to the Country
Loretty Lynn - You Aint Women Enough
Tammy Wynette - Superb Country Sounds
Hank Thompson - a 6-pack to go
Dolly Parton - Jolene

I like the old stuff the best. 60s and 70s western swing is where it's at.

Flaco Jimenez - "Squeeze Box King"

Tony Rice - "Tony Rice Plays and Sings Gordon Lightfoot"

Jonathan Edwards - "Lucky Day"...This is one of my favorites. It's on vinyl and about thirty years old. If you like country rock with a hippie feel to it, like the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band or the Flying Burrito Brothers, this is a great find. It's also one of the best live albums ever.
