  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello to all in Jesus name
I have a question regarding books that you read. I really enjoy reading and ever since I was converted (6 years ago) I have been trying to find "good" books that are worth reading. My convictions reflect the teachings of Jesus, so that really rules out most books. I am interested in finding a good selection of non-fiction, and I do find some historical fiction books to be edifying. One example of this kind of book that I just read recently was Uncle Tom's Cabin. I was blessed and encouraged by the struggles of the characters in the book, but most importantly, how God effected everything in their lives, and how the picture of what it is to be a true follower of Jesus was brought out by the character of Uncle Tom. I have read most of David Bercots books and have read many biographies like " The Hiding Place" by Corrie Tenboom. These are the kind of books that I am interested in, as well as books about historical events regarding American Indians, Slavery, and the Holocaust. It is just such a blessing to read about true christians in the past that overcame evil with good, and I would like to be able to allow my children to read some books like these when they are older. If you all have some books that you find to be simular in truth and in reality, please share the titles and authors with me. Thank you for your imput.
