  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm reading an Amish book. It's four fictional Amish stories in one book by Wanda E. Brunstetter.

And for the Bible, I am currently working on Exodus, 1 Peter, and Matthew. (I just finished a paper talking about St. Peter and found some great scriptures, so I chose to read them!)

Sorry for my previous post.I just wanted to lighten things up. I applaud you all for reading,& do not stop, but check this caveat that Solomon gives us in Ecclesiastes 12.
11The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails—given by one Shepherd. 12"Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them.
Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body". We need to be careful of falling into a "Talmudic" Christianity. That is,a form of Godliness where the commentaries of men replace the word of God.I will now challenge you to read the next verse in Ecclesiastes 12,where Solomon's wisest words are recorded. God bless you

Great testimony upon reading and coming out the other side for the better (I think) with Dawkin's nonsense.
