  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What are you reading/studying?

A little bit of a lot. I like to have several studies going on because different moods strike me at different times, so I have like..different categories ^_^

I've been in John a lot lately. Though I have started reading Romans today. I just felt in the mood. And I'm reading The Cost of Discipleship, History of the Christian Church Vol. 1, and I'm about to start Knowledge of the Holy by Tozer as well. And I'm thinking of giving Elizabeth Elliot's A Chance to Die another shot. I've always wanted to read more about Amy Carmichael's life, but E.E's writing style is very difficult for me to get into for some reason. But anyway..

Also, I guess you could say I'm studying churches ^_^ I'm currently on a search for a church home here....so I've been doing a lot of reading belief statements lately :)

I love reading beliefs statements and articles of faith. :)

John is my absolute favorite book of the Bible. It is filled with such faith and miracles!

You are a very busy girl. I can usually only really study one or two things at a time.

What to Expect When You're Expecting.

(Not pregnant, FYI, but I like to be prepared.)

Go you! I read that when I was younger (before I decided not to really try to have children) and it was a good resource. Unfortunately there is no "What to Expect When You Decide to Foster Children Whose Parents Are *Idiots" edition. ;)

*not all parents of foster kids are idiots. Just want to make that clear. :)

I've been studying baby names lately. A family member is pregnant and I'm trying to help the couple choose a name that they'll both love.

(I love names, so this is something I might be doing even if I didn't have a currently pregnant family member.)

Ohh I find it fun, but overwhelming ^_^

:D I'm so enjoying it. I'm trying to take it very slow...really dig into each verse and ...yeah...:swoon:

I look at what names are currently popular (using the Social Security Index), ones rising in popularity, trendy categories of baby names, images/personalities generally associated with particular names, names from certain countries or times (like the 20s or 50s), and I do look at meanings too. Also, I look at forums to see what names people are saying they like for ideas and to get a better handle on what names might become popular soon. Scouring baby name books (the dictionary or list of names section) is part of it, too.

As far as Bible reading goes, I'm in Jeremiah. I'm trying to read The Bible from cover to cover. I've read the entire NT before, but only parts of the OT.

I'm also reading a book of sermons called "Timely Messages" from a Fundamental Baptist preacher named Oliver B. Greene. It's an interesting read so far.

Physiology...yay bioenergetics. -__-
Yikes!!

Go you ^_^

I've been reading/studying "Topoi: The Categorical Analysis of Logic" also "A Game of Thrones"
For school or just on your own? :)

I'm currently reading the Hunger Games series. I'm on the last book. I didn't really care for the first book but they've grown on me!:)
Never heard of them. What are they about?

I've started studying the Bible from the beginning. Last year I got a beautiful study Bible from a friend and it's got great notes as introductions to each book and verses, so it's like reading the Bible with fresh eyes.
Ohhh good :D What Study Bible is it?

(I'm such a study Bible nerd...I'd have one of each if I could...and if they were all actually solid :sorry:)

That's awesome! I'll be praying for you! When did you start that? (the reading cover to cover I mean :) )

I love that Trilogy. It is my favorite book. I am currently reading Tribulation Force in the Left Behind series, and the Eragon series.
