  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

When it comes to your wedding, what are you/were you most afraid of?
If you're already married, how did it turn out? Were your fears justified or did it turn out you had nothing to worry about?
Try to give a piece of advice to someone else on how to face their fear or keep it from coming true!
-----
Everyone around me was afraid about the weather, afraid I'd trip going down the stairs, afraid something wouldn't arrive on schedule, etc.

When love meets fear something must give; one will overcome. My love won. The only other choice is paralysis and who wants that?

Before I married my fear was being trapped in a stale, lifeless, hopeless state of being with a woman that could just coast and not care.

I also feared that I would miss sexual access to other women.

I feared that she would leave me abandoned sexually.

Feared boredom being with the same woman.

What happened? She never bored me but she WAS a cripple sexually and the marriage fell apart.

My biggest fear was simply being married. It was such a transition!

Our story is a little different than most, to keep it VERY short we didn't have much a chance to get to know each other in person, but we knew divinely that we were meant for each other. We had never kissed each other and most (about 85-90%) of our getting to know each other was online (no, we didn't meet online).

My biggest fear was definitely s*x! I wish I'd had more time to get to know him, but it was our wedding day, then it was our wedding night, then our honeymoon. It seemed everything that could go wrong, did go wrong when it came to the wedding night. We weren't 'successful' the first night, goodness we ordered pizza late that night, the second night's attemps brought on my period, almost our whole honeymoon I had my period, not to mention I got diarhrea and really bad sunburn!

BUT, we loved each other and we look back on it humorously and fondly. Every wedding day/night and marriage is unique. And it is NEVER a perfect day, but it's perfect for those two who are called to marriage.

We've been married almost 3 years and thought it's not perfect, this is my little family (+1 child) and I love them dearly! I do have a terrific husband and a good marriage.

It takes work, it takes love, it takes commitment, and it takes getting closer to God to get closer to each other. And it's SO worth it! I always put in a good word for marriage whenever I can. :)

You are either terrible at kissing or awesome at it.

Lol I've never been kissed before, or been on more than one date with someone. I still have the option of saving my first kiss for my wedding day, I'm not sure if I will though. At least the options there.

In reality the main reason people have fear is they forget what the day is about. It is about getting married not the wedding day. I know people who spent four times the amount of money on their wedding than what we spent on our wedding & honeymoon (including food!).

As I said to one friend who was saying it was a difficult spot to get to all that mattered to me was that I could get married. So I needed five people to turn up. The minister, my bride, myself and two others to act as witnesses. If we had that then I would be happy. So if a dress rips or as in our case the microphone at the outdoor wedding stops working so what! We still got married which is what counts.

Well my wife was having a dream that a storm would hit and I would be stuck on the mainland while she was stuck on the island! She went on thursday while I went on friday. There was a fierce storm on the thursday night which washed hundreds of bluebottles on the beach. Bluebottles give a very nasty sting for those who don't know.

-Ripping my dress
-Accidentily biting my husbands tongue when kissing infront of everyone (would be funny, but pretty embarrassing!)
-Falling in a puddle of mud
-Saying the wrong name during the vowels
-A No show

You are either terrible at kissing or awesome at it.

Nihilist, you are either insane or crazy.
