  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm not sick, but I don't want to eat anything. Nothing really sounds good. DH and I decided we were going to go out to eat today, but I told him I couldn't stomach Mexican (which I usually love). So we went to Chili's (not sure why because niether one of us are big fans). I ordered pasta. I ate all of the chips and salsa (because I couldn't stomach Mexican, remember?). When the pasta came, I took one bite and asked for a box (ewwww didn't like the looks of it!!!), but suddenly the ribs that the guy next to me ordered looked and smelled great. What pain in the hiny.

I wish I could just inject myself with food and just chew gum all day.

I was cutting it into cubes and eating it with a toothpick and I got a little out of hand  ... I crave a lot of protein like things, now I am eating cashews.

Good thing you don't have a peanut allergy! Do you think protein powder in smoothies is healthy?

I didn't even hear about the deli meat thing in my first pregnancy, it was a surprise pregnancy so I was pretty ignorant about everything.... anyway i ate deli sandwiches a lot (was a working gal ;) ) and nothing ever happened. The concern with deli meat is listeria isn't it? So I guess if you don't get listeria, lunch meat is okay, but the idea is that its a risk.... you could get some bad meat.... especially at some of these restaurants

Is there such a thing as protein pills? Ugg, I ate a boiled egg last night, and I thought I was going to die. My Price Chopper Crispy Hegagons (store brand Crispix) are pretty tasty right now.

Protein straight from the source (food) will always be better than anything else. There are lots of sources of protein though so you should be able to find some to your liking. Besides consider it training for having children becaues what you eat, they eat, so the better example of nutrition you can set the better for their lives!!

As far as I know cold cuts and deli meat are one and the same.

I think that the deli meat is riskier due to not knowing how it has been stored. More cause for bacteria growth.

Yeah it's listeria that's a risk but my thing is is wouldn't you get sick anyway from it without being pregnant? It's not like the meat is raw?

My Midwife told me to zap the deli meat in the microwave before i ate it and it would be fine, although i have ate it a time or 2 without heating it up. I like sandwiches, and this is #5 and I have never had any trouble. But I try to remember to zap it.

I know. I'm usually a healthy eater (no processed foods in my house!). I'm having a hard time eating it now though. All I want to do is lay on the couch and eat clementines. Oh well. I'm just going to have to force myself. Toughen up Tiredwalker Awwooooooogaaaa!

Ooooh I like those too. I like food. Oh, you're early in pregnancy and I forgot about that.... don't worry about it then, do whatever you need to survive until you feel better :)

Got another quick question: What about ice cream with egg yolk in it is that safe? I was reading where eating homeade ice cream can be dangerous due to salmonella. I looked on my ice cream box that is Blue Bell/or Bunny homeade ice cream & it has egg yolk in it. Anyone heard of this?
I know I'm going crazy!! :)
