I have my opinon but would profer to shear it at a later time.

Same answer, different thread.

We are saved from God by God for the glory of God.

Doesn't get any simpler than that.

[ QUOTE=CoffeeSwirls]We are saved from sin, the slavery to sin and the consequenses of sin. We are saved FOR God even as we are saved FROM God.[/QUOTE]

What he said!

I think that it is very important to remember that we are saved from sin. Since many Arminians tend to ignore sin altogether when evangelizing, we need to remember that we don't need to be saved if we don't sin. Because we all sin, we all need to be saved. But if we forget sin, then there is no need of salvation, for the wages of sin is death (thus if you don't sin, you don't die).

In the Old Reformed conception, Salvation is tri-partitite:

Justification - we have been saved from the penalty of sin [Past Tense]
Sanctification - we are being saved from the power of sin [Present Tense]
Glorification - we shall be saved from the presence of sin [Future Tense]

Sin is what Christian is saved from because sin has to do with a person's soul. It comes to every human being: "What am I going to do about sin?" Sin is more than a disease. It is a deformity of the spirit, an abnormality in that part of human nature. We must make confession concerning our relationship with sin. Christ by His death on the cross made it possible for the sinner to exchange his sin for Christ's righteousness. It's that simple. If a person rejects Christ, God's plan of salvation, and Christ's death and resurrection as the basis for atonement, there is no remaining ground for redemption. Reconciliation is an impossibility.
