I live in CT and think that there are just a ton of spots to visit in New England...The Big E (eastern states) is a HUGE fair in MA every year.. There is Newport in RI where you can go thru all the huge mansions of the rich people from the past. There are the millions of historical sights because we are rich in culture of the past. I LOVE IT.....

What about you??? name a few areas that you would like to visit or already have

Arrostic County, Maine (hickville, but an awesome place!)
Bar Harbor, Maine (awesome cruise ships, wale watching)
Greenville, Maine (Mooshead lake (HUGE), Mt. Katahdin, tons of mountians to climb)

I'll find more! Those are all places I have been to and I love them! My boyfriend and I visit these places often!

I've climbed Mt. Katahdin. It was awesome! I used to live in Lincoln (totally hickville!) and we had a great view of Mt. Katahdin from our back yard.

I personally liked Camden, Maine a lot. Great shopping. And we ran into that one guy that plays Major Dad...Gerald something I think. His wife was there too, the dark headed girl from Designing Women.

That is totally cool! A lot of actors and actresses (John Travolta), have houses out on the ocean near Camden. John Travolta's house is really nice!

I've never actually climbed Mt. Katahdin, but I've climbed several mountains around that area. Once I get some of the pictures from my boyfriend from our last hiking trip, I'll see if I can put them up here. We have some good pics of Kathadin and surrounding areas.

I used to know someone from Lincoln. It smells up there though! Stinkin' Lincoln! :D

My dad was a physician up there...I wonder if I know the person you knew. LOL. I went to Maranatha Riverside Church up there.

me..me...me... i'm from Maine. Not to far from Lewiston/Auburn. I don't think I have to much to add about vacation spots except to say that Maine is not ALL about the ocean. I love the back woods of maine. Since most of maine is woods I think it is a fairer representation than the ocean that most out of staters think of when they think of Maine(phew...run on.) Anyways, of all the NE states I think New Hampshire is the most scenic and best place to vacation(and no sales tax).

I live in Mass. near Worcester. As for vacations...I usually go to this campground near the MA/NH boarder and I also go to Maine a lot, I think the place is called Cape Elizabeth or something.
I've never been to The Big E but I really want to, I've been to the Sterling Fair, though. Anyone been to that? It's quite fun.

Hi gang...

I grew up in Mass and lived in Rowley for 10 years before my husband and I bought a house in Somersworth, NH this year. I love the entire coast from Rockport/Gloucester in Mass straight up to the higher reaches of Maine (I live a 1/2 hour from Wells beach and go there to collect stones and sea glass). Lots of beautiful beaches (I'm such a mermaid) and cute shops and places to hike and walk.

I spend a lot of time vacationing in the mountains of Vermont and NH. I love the deep forests of Maine. You just can't go wrong in New England!

Boston is a fine place to spend some time, too. My sister and I spent most of our youth hanging out in town. We'd go shopping and clubbing, and as an artist, I go to the Museum of Fine Arts quite often. And of course, the Aquarium and the Museum of Science! Cambridge and Harvard Square are always colorful and interesting.

We've got it all right here!!!

(Of course, if you really want to visit amazing beaches, you've got to go tropical. But I'm happy in any ocean! The gulf of Florida is lovely, and the beaches of Cancun, Mexico, and Hawaii are simply divine. Ah, I love the sea.)
