What are some unexplainable or miraculous events that have happened in your life?

In 1985, one of my cousins was riding a motorcycle on a highway in Texas and had a head-on collision with an 18 wheeler. After that, I never wanted to ride on a motorcycle. I was 15 when that happened.

Yeah, they are great fun, but they just aren't safe. I hope my kids don't grow up to ride. A person can experience 90% of the feeling but much safer (and way better in rain) in a used Mazda Miata, or even an old Triumph or MG.

I am alive!
I survived an attempted abortion of myself by my mother, violence at home, starvation by my mother in my teens, tuberculosis at age 27, and serious advanced cancer at age 64 (I was three weeks approx. away from death and I am now 67). Is that enough? LOL

The most "miraculous" one involved my brother. My dad and my brother flew out to St. Louis for my son's Confirmation. My brother was his sponsor, and my mother wanted my dad to go with him because he had been diagnosed with MS the year before. In the months since I'd seen my brother, his condition had deteriorated quite a bit. He had a pronounced limp, and when he tried to pour milk into the cereal bowl his hand shook so that he needed help. I found myself on the verge of tears (which I tried to conceal) much of the time.

I was singing with the choir during the Confirmation Mass, and as I saw my brother limping up the aisle with my son as he was confirmed, I couldn't shake my sadness. When we all held hands to say the "Our Father," I felt the Holy Spirit's presence so strongly, and I prayed that my brother would be healed by his presence at this Mass. We were singing the Communion hymn as he limped up with my son to Communion and right as they walked by the choir he straightened up and began walking perfectly. He went into a remission that lasted several years.

This happened over twenty years ago. His MS has progressed, although he is still able to walk. He has some vision problems. He is retired.

But I firmly believe that the gift of that several-year remission was a miracle, granted after my heartfelt prayer.

There have been other 'miracles' I've experienced and family members have experienced, but never one with the instantaneous connection as my brother's remission. I've got to go to work soon, but maybe I'll post a few later.

Well that's great. Maybe you should gracefully bow out then and quit peeing on everyone's parade.

I was born into an incredibly wealthy country at a time when mankind doesn't need superstition as a crutch. That's about as lucky as you can get.

Jesus came to me in a dream and told me to "lift up my sufferings" for an acquaintance of mine. The man seemed very happy, so I couldn't figure out why he needed my prayers, but I prayed anyway. The next day was Good Friday and I was in Mass and every joint in my body hurt. Then, suddenly, the pain was gone. Later I found out that this man was going to confession at the same time my joint pain disappeared. (He went to a different church.) Unknown to me, he was suffering greatly and needed prayers. I told him about this situation later and he was taken aback (but was happy).

While I feel I have been kept from harm's way several times and St. Anthony has been very good to me as far as lost stuff (very, very, good - Thank you again Anthony) I haven't really experience anything that I would call miraculous.

Also -

A wise man once said that a miracle is just something that happens when you need it. so...

maybe.

My family in NY would sometimes attend the Healing Masses of Fr. Dennis Kelleher, OMI (now deceased). We have experienced some healings after praying at those Masses, too.

Fr. Dennis always told the congregants to pray not for themselves but for those around them. I really believe that I was granted that instantaneous miracle (my brother's instantaneous long remission) because I was praying for someone else and not myself, and I think it shows how important intercessory prayer for others and prayer networks are.

My conversion to Christianity involved a miracle. No one but God could have seen it coming.

From what I've read in your other posts, we had a similar conversion experience.

i forgave my mother.

It was a miracle, because only God could've given me the unction, strength, and grace to forgive her.

This is how I got my job.

It was Good Friday of 2010. I had to frame a watercolor for one of the nuns at church that was painted by her sister for her 50th jubilee. It was kind of ripply and had nice torn edges so I thought it would look best float mounted on an appropriately colored scrap of mat board I had lying around. So, I took it into my favorite neighborhood art/frame store. The owner was there, and while gracious seemed a little shell shocked. I told him what I wanted, and was being very specific, so he asked me, "It seems like you have some experience with this". "Oh yes, I replied, I used to work at a frame shop and I do all of my own matting and framing. He told me his framer was in the hospital with pneumonia and wondered if I could help him out for a few hours. I didn't have anything else planned that Good Friday (except serving the 7:00 service) so I spent the rest of the day helping out in the frame shop. It was a pretty fun day. I knew a lot of the artist who came in. At one point I heard a very familiar voice on the other side of the store, and when I went around to look there was my wife looking to buy pen refills.

I put in a few hours when I could until the real framer got better and then I went on my own way. A number of months later, the store manager of fifteen years (and also an altar server at my parish) quit and I was offered the position.

The real kicker of this story is that my boss had just recently opened up the framing aspect of his art store. Business was slow, so he and his wife dedicated the shop to St. Joseph the Worker. Turns out, they got a really big job from one of the local hospitals. The name of the hospital? St. Joseph's Carondelet. And the first framing job? A portrait of St. Joseph for evry room. And the order of the nun celebrating her jubilee from whence this all passed? St. Joseph Carondelet.

St. Joseph, ora pro nobis!

Yes, amen. Thank you St Anthony.
His phone lines are probably blinking 24/7/365
