I already know about Ahab who repented and then was killed in battle and David who received mercy and then his children died. Any more examples?

The first that comes to my mind is when God didn't destroy Nineveh after Jonah eventually warned them of the coming judgement against them.

God determining to destroy the Israelites after their sin of idolatry ... only to be counseled to reconsider by Moses ...
