What is a good age to sign your child up for Ballet?

Thank You!! I know what you mean about making sure the kids want to learn!!classical ballet classes start at age 8 (generally). That's the best age for children to start ballet classes because they are mature enough to listen and move their bodies accordingly. However, there are creative movement and pre-ballet classes that you can have your child take anywhere from ages 3+. I personally think that creative movement is a waste of money for kids under the age of 5. Make sure that the child WANTS to do ballet though, I see way too many girls pushed into it by their parents and hating it.

My granddaughter is 3 and she is in tumbling right now and loves it but I see her dancing a lot and I thouhgt about getting her in the pre-ballet classes but maybe I'll just wait till she is older and just sign her up for more tumbling for right now.
