You are applying a meaning to "first born" using todays language rather then the meaning it was used by Paul.
First born is a way of saying head over the creatures or heir of an estate.

When proper hermeneutics is applied your interpretation doesn't work real well.

We are to think as Christ would, who being in the form (external appearance) of God. Man too is made in the image of God.

The same word "form" is used when Jesus is being described as a bond servant. You view would then indicate Jesus was only a bond servant in external appearance.

But Jesus really was a bond servant...which means Jesus really was God.

John 8:44 tells us...You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires.
Please.

When Jesus used these words he was talking to a group of men who were unbelievers.

Mormons are believers just like you. What you say to us is a verbiage mirror that you could say to yourself. So be careful how you depict other believers.

We may differ in our beliefs about Jesus Christ and how he came about, but you are on thin ice to use the words of Jesus to unbelievers to depict believers.

If we were all suddenly transported back to the 16th century, would you be willing to burn me at the stake? You need to answer that question, it may determine your salvation.

You said "it may determine your salvation"....really???
My salvation was determined the moment I received Christ Jesus. Never to be lost.

Better yet, my salvation was determined before the world was ever made. I could probably correct the first line by saying my salvation was realized when I received Christ Jesus.

Secondly it is my belief.....and I don't mean to offend you...mormons are not believers just like me. You said "We may differ in our beliefs about Jesus Christ and how he came about"...which is a big difference. The mormons makes Jesus a "Jesus" that is different from the Jesus in the bible.

So -

If a "saved" person goes out and, say, machine guns a school bus, are they still "saved"?

Or were they never "saved" to begin with?

Lets answer your hypothetical question by saying this individual truly is saved. That is, if they were to die right now, they would go to heaven.

You asked if a truly saved person machine guns a school bus would they still be saved? The answer is yes.

John 10:29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

So "salvation", in your view, is a one-way ticket?

That is, no matter how evil or vile a person is, once they're "saved" God ignores it?
