Time will tell... it just bugs me that the honest/innocent get dinged for the deeds of those who are not. Way it works in this world... Can't blame MS for trying something, as they have to try to protect themselves, but don't think it was put through the duh filter first. Have also heard rumor that it will be pulled too.

In light of Bill Gates, Robert Scoble, and now Vic Gundotra in very recent days... MS has had a tough week. Can't help but think that they would like this WGA issue go away.

So the WGA thing downloaded to my computer last week and I kept clicking cancel when it popped up...I completely missed the "Decline" button until yesterday when I noticed it.

I clicked decline and another pop up came up with a check box saying something to the effect of "don't ask me about this again".

I checked the box, clicked OK and it is gone.

I don't know if MS is just slowly warming the water to a boil to keep the frog from jumping out, but what kind of anti-piracy tool has a permanent opt out feature?

There is something rotten in Redmond.

For the record, I got my copy of XP when I purchased my HP laptop, so unless HP is up to no good my copy is legitimate.

It isn't a surprise. Companies such as Microsoft and Adobe are getting harder and harder to work with as they beef up their anti-piracy campaigns.
