  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This Saturday I went to confession, and for the first time since I was in grade school there was a line. I waited nearly an hour to go to confession. It was beautiful to see that many people asking for God's grace. It helped me remember that I'm not in this alone.

It is amazing how I always feel as light as a feather after communion. Everything feels like it has been lifted off my shoulders.

I just thought it was pretty amazing to see a line.

Yeah, I know. It's always a good sign to see lines at confession. I usually go after work (The Cathedral had 3 confession times each day, except Sundays, but this time we went on Saturday, and there was a line. It made me feel a bit better that I was not the only one with sins to confess!

It's such a wonderful sacrament! I'm always excited and nervous at the same time to go! It's just the best to be soooo very clean!

Peace in Christ!

Well done colleen! Those confessions after a long time are especially relieving. It is nice to be sure that you are back :)

But... do make sure not to wait another x years for your next one ;) It still feels pretty great even after a few weeks gap.

I actually went to confession for the first time in nine years back in march of last year, and so I've been trying to go more frequently. Normally when I go I seem to be the only one so it was nice to see that other people are wanting to receive God's grace and forgiveness.

You're only required to go once a year. You're also required to receive Communion once a year, between the First Sunday of Lent and Pentecost (Easter's preferred), so most people go to confession around Easter. Last year on Good Friday, the line at my parish for Confession was out the door and around the block. Wonderful thing to see. :)
