• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

After 3 months of deciding whether to quit smoking or not I went to my Doctor. He suggested Wellbutrin. He gave me some samples ( 2 weeks worth ) I took them until they ran out. I did not get my perscription refilled ( no $ left on my flex. spending card ) until 3 months later. When i did get it filled I started taking it right away. After a week I started getting hives and ended up in the E.R. with chest pains. My doc said these were side effects of the drug and to stop taking it. I asked what else should I try. He said there wasn't anything out on the market and i should just try the patch. this did not sit well with me. I know there are other forms of treatment out there. If there is anyone out there that has had good luck with other treatments please let me know. I am willing to try ANYTHING.

Welbutrin (generic for Zyban) made me crazy, literally. I became extremely mean with these! My friends asked me to please quit taking them; needless to say they did not work on me either. Some of my female friends had the same experience where several of the males we know it was half and half. Some it worked on others it acted as it did for you?

I just decided that I want to quit. I am actually looking into the herbal remedies that make you feel "sick" and “nauseous” when you smoke, eventually not craving cigarettes. But there are so many products out there!! I am overwhelmed. I hate some of the cost I see!! There are many with 100% money back guarantees. You might try this, everyone I have ever known to quit did this either cold turkey or they used one of these products? Just a thought?!
