CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have been going to the site Daily strength because it is more active. I check this one everyday but no one comes on.

Well, I too keep checking for more action.......and this part gave us some......hope everyone is well; or at least as well as we can be. I played piano at a funeral today. I didn't know the deceased, but the widow I knew a bit. Someone at my church, and the regular pianist wasn't able to play. While playing I did okay, but at the rest of the time, I could've just gone to sleep! SO much re-living my own hubby's funeral; almost the exact same words. I don't know how the widow managed to give a spoken tribute along with one of her children, but, it was beautiful. Everyone was very encouraging to me after, though.

I really wish this part of the forum was more active
Me too. I came to this site hoping there would be a subforum for widows/widowers. I found it but it doesn't look like many people post here. I wonder why that is? Seems we could really offer some support for each other. I am a somewhat recent widow. Lost my husband of 32 years to cancer on February 5, 2009.
