One of my Sunday School teachers (she teaches the New Beginnings Class) came to me Sunday and told me she'll be out of town this weekend and asked me to cover her class. They use canned lessons from a very good book NIV BIBLE TEACHER. I just opened it. First lesson?

Yikes!!

It will be easier for you, as a Methodist, than for me, attending a Assembly of God church. Since Methodists don't oppose evolution, you could probably get away with teaching that there are differing opinions, etc. If I was teaching such a topic at my church, I would have to teach the lesson as given. As a Sunday School teacher, I believe you are there as a representative of the Church, not as just yourself, and it would be wrong for me to teach something contrary to the established denomination doctrine.

For you, it will be fine either way!

I agree, for me it will be fun--I"m already picturing the people in the class and designing a program to represent all sides of the equation. Yea!!!
