  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

well, I'm back

I've been away for quite a while, busy with life as well as reading some books on evolution, and thanks to many of you here, I am now fully converted. Not only this, but, for some of the lost I am in regular contact with, the idea of Creationism is so far fetched that it clouds the message of Christ.

I am not of much assistance to the scientific debate. However, the spiritual debate, brothers and sisters, here am I. :)

Hope all of you are well.

the message of Christ doesn't mean much unless there is an origin of sin.....

When did I say that Genesis doesn't reveal a possible origin of sin story?

Not to mention, I actually do not need to understand the origin of sin to understand the love of Christ, do I?

I mean, Christ's sacrifice and love for me doesn't have to do with his love and sacrifice for Adam except that we are all one together in this problem mankind has, an affliction of sin.

Always good to have you back, Pats. We could use a few more lucid thinkers around here. Personal conversion stories are always among the most convincing.

Thank you, Mallon. I'm not sure if you recall that originally I came to the Origins debate on CF because I was concerned about the salvation of a pagan "TE" friend of mine. I use quote because his "god" may not be my God, I'm not sure on the technicalities of such issues.

At any rate, I love this friend. So, as a firm creationist, I came here for more evidence on the creationists side of the arguement, lol. And look how far I've come, lol.

I am still whitnessing to this friend, btw. It helps a lot that, in his mind, I'm not talking in fairy tales as much. I don't know what will happen, as his salvation is in God's hands. But, thanks for all the help with the origins debate all of you have always been. :)

lol, I have a blog page on here some where I wrote as I was making the transition, and that would explain a lot.

Let me really spend some time writing up a response to this very good question, Mallon, and I'll post it later or tomorrow.

Well, to summerize my answer, I believe that it was forming relationships with TE's on this board, whom I cannot even begin to list, that gave caring and informative answers to my questions.

I had learned much creationist appologetics by this time, so it also took some people from Crevo who explained exactly what was wrong with what I had been taught. For instance, I had read the book, One Blood, as a creationist and really thought it had "the answers" before I learned differently here. That is especially in regard to the impossibility of how a variety of races could evolve and keep the Garden story as literal as Calvanistic Creationism would have me to take it.

btw, I mean no disrespect to any creationists by my statements or my use of laughter. I just happen to giggle a lot, sorry if it reads wrong.

Yeah, I read that book too. That's what inspired me to write the "Creationism is NOT Biblical" thread.

There's just no arguing with charlatans like Ken Ham. Because in their world, disagreeing with them leads to racism and pornography addiction.
