I am really struggling to be a Christian, I just feel so alone. I'm either going to be on fire for God or not at all. For me, being a Christian is really hard with today's temptations of the world. It's really depressing me, and i don't feel God helping me. I can't struggle on like this for the rest of my life. :sigh:

You have to count the cost and figure what is worth living for. Sure the world has a lot of temporary happiness to offer, but it doesn't last. If you dedicate and commit yourself to God and renew your mind, daily, with His Word and stay filled with His Spirit, the world's temptations will fade.
If you are young, the opportunity of a happy life is available with the Lord in service to others, such as being a helpmate and mother in a Christian home or finding charities to work with. When we give our lives away as Jesus did, we think less about ourselves and personal pleasure which is hard to do in our hedonistic society which only thinks about what feels good next. Being a Christian is going for the long haul, all the way to and into eternity with God. There is much joy and peace with God, but it isn't the same as the world's which may be exciting, but ends very quickly.
Resolve in your heart to follow Jesus no matter what. Usually, the really worthwhile things cost us, and the Bible says to gain life with Him we have to lose the life we have for the world.
It is impossible to do without God's Spirit and the blood of the lamb, so it isn't an easy thing to do - but you can do it if you ask for His help, and then you will find joys and peace that will surpass the understanding of the world. Be patient and steadfast as you can, and keep wanting and seeking God in your life.

Luke 9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

Matthew 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Luke 14:6 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

To resolve any problem it's important to figure out the causes of the situation.Your message mentioned three causes of the problem but upon reflection you might be able to think of other factors.

1.I FEEL ALONE.This is most likely because you are.It's essential that you find a spirit-filled church with a small bible study or fellowship group you can join.You need to meet at least one or two other Christians who you can get into an "accountability partner" relationship with so you'll have someone to call upon when you're tempted to violate Jesus' teachings.

2.TEMPTATIONS OF THE WORLD.That's why it's necessary to remove yourself from them.Can't tempt you if you don't hang out with them.I get the distinct impression that you're unaware of this bible verse:HE WHO LOVES THE WORLD IS AN ENEMY OF GOD.

3.GOD HAS NOT HELPED.Maybe He's waiting for you to show a more sincere desire to "TAKE UP YOUR CROSS DAILY AND FOLLOW HIM ".I hope you're not asking God to help you to become a true Christian if you're living a lifestyle of sin and worldly pleasure.Praying like that could anger God.I mean He's not stupid.If you want God to help you become a true Christian, then you have to make an extremely sincere effort to practice a Christian lifestyle.Then the specific thing to pray for is the baptism of the Holy Spirit.Once He answers that prayer,the Holy Spirit will help to keep you close to Jesus and His moral path..

Yeah i have been Going to vineyard church, i haven't been going enough though, i need to go more during the week for house church or bible study. I'll check it out this Sunday.

I know the verse, to be quite honest i hate the world. When i first come to this forum i used to justify pre-marital sex, i was a very luke warm Christian but i soon learnt what i was doing was wrong and repented, i was crying bucket loads to Jesus. My partner and i have stopped ever since about 3 months ago. But sex is thrown in our face daily through media it's seems to have gotten worse over the years, It's like i had to be the world to overcome the world, know what i mean? I'm getting married at the end of the year. i'm trying to live righteous, it's just fustrating to hear everyone else is enjoying it all the time.

I'm trying not to live a lifestyle of sin and worldly pleasure, though i have fallen a few times in the past and God made me pay for it! he made me pay. And your right, God is not stupid. I learned the hard way LOL .

I've been praying and i feel close to God when i do, everytime i make a mistake it's a huge effort to get up again. I just feel it's a even harder struggle in this day and age.

We can't struggle to be Christians; we either are Christians or we are not.

"In reply Jesus declared, 'I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." - John 3:3

"'I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from to life.'" - John 5:24

It's good that you want to be holy. That's great! God is with you all the time, whether you feel Him or not.

"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." - 1 Corinthians 10:13

The beauty of this verse is that it shows us we can simply choose to obey. I know that sounds too easy. I have sin addictions myself and it is very hard to say no to those passions. But God is still with me.

"For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust. " - Psalm 103:11-14
