AN OASIS FOR YOU!
HEADLIGHTS LEFT ON
Have you ever had to do a double look at your car headlights to make sure they are off as you walk across a parking lot? Sometimes when another light or reflection is shining on a headlight, it can have the appearance of being on. Ever have that experience? Recently I did.
In our being, we all have a built in light socket. Some of us have figured out how to plug into the Source of Light while others still struggle to keep lit from another source. There other sources that can illuminate us or give an appearance of light - a temporary glow. Such things as our accomplishments, our successes, or even compliments of others are external sources. And these are nice; however, they are unpredictable and temporary. Even if we have once learned to plug into the Father, everyday we have the need to keep plugged in!!!
The Source of all Light is the Source of life and unlike our car batteries,
His power does not run dry.
We can shine the light of God onto others. We can reflect His love to all those whom we come in contact and that is our job. Yet more fruitful is helping others find for themselves the Light inside of them! The Lord is a powerful and lasting light, more so than any thing in all creation. The Lord is love and power, acceptance and validation, security and fulfillment, strength and hope. Is that burning inside of you? Maybe you forgot to turn the key? the key of Jesus Christ. Maybe you havent invited Him into your life, or maybe you havent fully given Him lordship in your life. That would be like trying to drive a car on a dead battery . Trust me, youre not going to get very far before you find yourself stranded, maybe even somewhere dangerous, dark, and lonely. Dont despair if you find yourself in this predicament, there is roadside service available!!! Jesus has a big ol tow truck if your car is shot!!! His mercy and grace endure forever! Just get under the blood of Jesus and you will be safe. It might not be easy, but you will be okay. If your battery has been dead awhile, get a super-charge! Go to a Christian concert, read a good Christian book, buy a new Christian CD, spend some time in Gods Word, worship Him, go admire some of His outstanding creation in nature, or make a list of everything you are thankful for. Then give Him praise for these blessings in life and remember He is good and He loves you.
JOHN 1:1-14 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men .The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God children born not of natural descent nor of human decision or a husbands will, but born of God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us."
JOHN 4:13- "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
