• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

We will miss you yella...

Chris, I'm missing you terribly. But I know that you're with Jesus and laughing with joy like you've never known before. How I can begrudge you that? I'm so grateful that I had an opportunity to meet you here...my life is better for having known you.

See you later....get the Nanner suits ready for us.

Missing you, Chris. You were always so uplifting and always seemed to have a smile ready. I wish I could have had the chance to have gotten to know you better. I know that you are with our Father now though. My heart is hurting so much for your family. My prayers as well as many others here are going out for them.

See ya when I get there...

Chris, I am so grateful that I had the privelege to get to know you. I will miss you so much, but I know that you are now resting in the arms of Jesus. I enjoyed our times playing together in the games threads. Your spirit was so vibrant and unquenchable. I thank you for bringing joy to CF. I know that one day I will get to meet you in person and I look forward to that. Just say Nanner...

Chris

Your zany sense of humour and kindness lifted my spirits every day and your courage when faced with surgery again, followed by the loss of your sister was inspiring. Though you left us far sooner than we would have wanted, I rejoice that you are with Jesus now.....I rejoice that in His presence you are made whole and complete.....sing a song of praise for Jesus for us, will you, chris?  Will pray for your family as the sadness I feel is only a fraction of what they'll be feeling right now.....thank you for enriching my life.....your love for bananas and the colour yellow was so in sync with me. :)

I looked back over our last few conversations with yella today. He still has the ability to make us laugh!

My mind's eye remembers

The trouble I've seen
All I have been through
And how I long to be free
But I learn by your patience
That I need your resolve
To wait for the opening

Of eternity's halls
And I know that in time
We will stand side by side
When Jesus comes back
Receiving His bride

When there will be no more pain
No more sorrow no more waitin'
For illusive tomorrows
There will be no more pain
No more dyin'
No more strivin' or strain
No more pain

My playmate, Yella. *sigh* He was always kind to me. I didn't know him well other than through playing word association games, yet he had considered me his friend. I knew of his sister and his surgery, but NO idea that he had passed away. Thank you Lord for putting him in our lives and making them more pleasant and enjoyable because of Chris. Enjoy him Lord...we will miss him.

I have not had the chance to personally know Yella, but I saw you band together to pray for him while he was here, and how you are all getting together now, shows just how much of a friend he was to so many. I am saddened I missed a chance to know such a great person.

Just remember, he's home.

Yella, I am going to miss you. You was always so kind to me and a friend.
But there is comfort in knowing you are in a better place. I'm so sorry.

O God, in Thy blessed kingdom
No ears shall ever harken
To the words 'I am going away.'
For no soul ever wearies
Of the dear, bright angel land,
And no saint ever wanders
From the sunny golden land.

Requiem Softly...

It's ok to take a rose from my bed;
The roses intended for me,
I shall never know.
I am only here in your heart..
Whispering gently.
Time will nurture your sadness,
Requiem softly to memorize,
Thoughtfully to comprehend,
And lovingly to embrace and mend...
It's ok to cry,
With your eyes or deep inside...
Then tenderly claim your memories,
Because my body commited to this earth,
Simply released my spirit to rebirth.

Yella he was such a special person..Always cheerful and kind.
I remember writing him a pm after he joined and told him I too loved
the color yellow.
He was a joy to know and that is evident.
I will miss him..
One day our Lord will replace our mourning with gladness and give us joy instead of sorrow...Jeremiah 31:13..
In the meantime, we must clear out the old, even if we have nothing growing in it's place.( like in a garden)
Grief, like winter, is only a season. And after winter comes spring, a time of new beginnings and fresh starts. When we give ourselves time to grieve and let go of what no longer can ge, then we are ready to grow anew, like the yellow daffodils of springtime.
We will miss you Yella..We look forward to seeing you again....

Chris well what can I say about you. You were one teriffic person you made such an impression on so many people in really such a short amount of time including me. I will miss your humor, unreadable post, and most your friendship. Thanks for conversations that we did get to share in this crazy place of CF. I know that you are in a much better place. I know that we will see you soon and we will all be together with Jesus.

omigosh, i can't believe it. i was just thinking about yella a couple of days ago because i bought bananas and banana flavoured milk and was wearing banana lipgloss. I love bananas and they're something of an obsession with me, hence my feling of connection with Yella.

This is so sad, not for Yella, he's in such a good place right now, we couldnt deny him that, but for those left behind, with only the memories. But the memories are good and you know what, we're all going to be there one day, all of us together.

Yella and I posted in a lot of the same word games and he was constantly getting complaints about his yellow font. He was always so kind about it and was never defensive about it nor did he respond unkindly to the complaints. Yet, he stuck with his yellow font! :) I never minded. I too love yellow. It's been my favorite color ever since I can remember having a favorite color.

Many found the yellow font difficult to read but I noticed that those who had difficulty reading the yellow font would highlight his words because they didn't want to miss a thing he said! He was valued member of this community!
