• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

We need to be praying for peoples' struggles, not just our own, not just for a moment

Hi there!

So I could explain where I got the inspiration for this, but suffice it to say that a woman of great faith explained that her daughter had a condition and nothing could explain why, but God. The lesson I learned from this, was that even if I had a completely different condition to the one I have got now, yes I would still need prayer, but so would everyone else who had a condition of some kind. Better to act in faith for the greater number of those who are facing trouble, than concern myself endlessly with my own failing!

So what I concluded was, "Lord, as long as I have got life, I will keep reminding you in prayer, of all of us that need your help with their struggle" There are many things you could pray or even do, but if you don't know what else to do, especially for people with conditions of various kinds, you need to pray! And keep praying! We need to keep each other accountable in this sense; it is not enough for the Devil to break ranks with the faith and have people harm themselves and commit suicide and more - we must defend those whom the Lord gives us, until that Day when He welcomes us home and explains why we had to go through what we did (and removes it from us).

I don't want to be the only guy that God healed, in the end! Save me from my obsession with my self! The Lord will lift us out of the flesh, if we keep turning to Him, not just to save us, but those with us. This is something we can do together! He that has ears to hear, let him hear!

It is an obsession with me too. But my needs are not so immediate. They can wait and be controlled by trusting the Lord.
I seek to pray for others but seldom get beyond my own family; not even the government! I have the power to focus on others and am pulling away my bootstraps in favor of someone else. Try it give yourself a test and see that you don’t will fall apart while praying for others. I am always processing my info and will let it go. The blessing is in caring for others.
