  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We just got a little puppy.

It's not no kitty, its just a stinking, whining, spoiled, finicky, using the bathroom anywhere it wants 3 year old cat. I hate that animal. He hides out till we go to bed then he slams against the bedroom door and whines nearly all night. Want him?
A pox on all cats. Too bad kittens grow up into cats. Mumble mumble, mumble.

Sure, I'll take him. Doesn't seem like he's wanted where he is. Such a loving (?) home. Give the beastie a chance and take him to a shelter.

Congrats on the new puppy Myanchor - I feel the same about the kittens turning into cats, I have only ever had 1 cat that I totally adored but someone stole her :(

But if I may offer advice on the urinating anywhere he wants, may be a UTI, it's just one of the signs of having one. Antibiotic may clear it up. Also the whining he is probably in heat, if he isn't fixed may help to do so :)

He was fixed when we got him.

This nasty cat goes into the laundry room and does his business on both the clean and dirty clothes. This cat has done it (both liquid and solid on the sectional 900 dollar couch more than once even with SCAT! sprayed on it. The couch was ruined and stunk to high heaven yet my older daughter wanted it when she moved into an apartment. This cat has gone into the joint closet and done it on the shelving, the clothes on the shelving, the floor. This cat has done it everywhere in the basement. And his litter box is kept clean and available. This cat has shredded clothes. This cat has scratched both my wife and my daugter and THAT is not permitted, no animal gets a bye if they damage my family. He is allowed to live by me only because my wife and daughter care for him. But I despise him. Denigrate me if you will because I despise cats and you love them but I don't find them attractive whatsoever. Especiailly if they prevent me from sleeping again and again.

They are sneaky, they are mean spirited and they stink up everywhere they go. I despise them. I tolerated his actions when he was a kitten because he was young and dumb, now he refuses to do the things he was trained to do, like go in the litter box.
There's a good chance he's got a problem with what's in the litterbox. Going to the bathroom all over the place is the sign of a very upset cat. Angry, ticked off and scared. Not a nice place to be. If you dislike cats so much, don't abuse this one, just stay away from it. He's much smaller than you and doesn't really have a chance against someone so much bigger than he is.

If he bothers you, then use earplugs. He's doing all he can to let you know how unhappy he is. Please talk your wife and daughter into taking this beastie to a shelter, he may be adopted by someone who will love him. If not, he'll be dead, which is better than living so miserably.

I get the impression you're very much a dog person. :) Same here, my wife is a cat person. Our compromise so far is not to have either until the kids are a bit older. However I'm slowly converting her by taking her to see cute puppies and friendly dogs now and then.

My anchor.....I have your cat's twin sister. We have 2 15 yo cats....they are ok but weird .....but we have a 6 year old demon disguised as a cat. She's fixed....she's fully vetted regularly....but she howls all night....claws at doors...poops in the laundry room where the 3 litterboxes are....pees on anything cloth that is left on the floor...including any rug we try to own. We have hardwood floors in every room and can't have a rug anywhere because she will urinate on it. She has never ever clawed anything other than doors.....until I bought a leather reading chair for myself. Now it's covered in holes because her trees and sisal boards are no longer good enough. I can't stand her.

We will never own another cat because of her.

Congrats on the puppy though! I'm more of a dog person myself. We have two of them and one is old and senile and I call her "70 lbs of stupid" most days.
