I would agree to an extent but I would add "just plain ignorance". No one can understand the experiences of another unless they have experienced what that other has experienced. The causes of racism are pride and fear. Pride says that one race is better. Fear imagines that the other race(s) want to drag the "better" race down to their level. Unless and until people realise that no race is any better than another, racism will continue. Racism is entrenched in every society. Multiculturalism reinforces racism, not helps. Australia has one of the most tolerant societies on earth, but it is far from perfect. You think the USA is racist? Check out India, Japan, Sri Lanka, Africa - any society where there is more than one race.
I had an eye opening experience at Mass a number of years ago which helped me to understand God's wish for us. I was sitting in my pew when I began to have a vision from God. I saw a group of Christians and God said, "You cannot be One with God, and he cannot be One with God, and he cannot be One with God, unless you are also One with each other, even though each cannot understand this." Each of God's children possess the same Holy Spirit and God is One. We each receive the Holy Spirit through baptism but too many refuse to see the other as brethren.Christians should be the exception, of course. Most Christians know that we were created in God's image. Yet many Christians want to isolate themselves in exclusive churches also. If it is hard for Christians, how can we expect the world to change?
I think the vast majority of people agree with the premise of the George Flyod protests and what happened to him was wrong. So what is the next step? Specifically what would the protesters (and others) like to see happen? It would be interesting to hear specific ideas and not vague calls for reform and change.
Black Lives Matter said the following:
“They want to see the arrest of all the officers involved [in the murder of George Floyd]. They want to have no more terror, no more police terror in their communities,” Cullors said. “Everybody wants to be apologized to. Everybody wants to be told, ‘I'm sorry. What I did was wrong. It was unacceptable. We won't do it again and, in fact, this is how we change.’”
I think this is the overall goal, but exactly how do we get there? If you could make some changes what would they be and why do you think they would work?

For all the protests and vague pie in the sky demands there is next to nothing the left has proposed in terms of policy changes. At best they want reeducation camps for cops but beyond some leftist seminars I don't see them demanding anything substantive.I think the vast majority of people agree with the premise of the George Flyod protests and what happened to him was wrong. [...] The police shouldn’t have to contain animals. That’s the zookeepers job. [...]
She is referring to people acting like wild dangerous animals instead of rational human beings. What?

the sad reality is that for many of the agitators and leaders in the black community, they simply do not want a solution. They must keep stirring up old hatreds (and real ones from some whites who are still racist) to fund their organizations and keep unrest alive!
For some, the anarchy is to help overthrow our form of government for a more sinister kind. Most just wish to see the justice that is being meted out now and will retreat quietly, but the trouble makes will continue to stir the pot for far too many!
I teach college and graduate students. The current generation is different from my Gen X, but I wouldn’t call them “monsters.”That is the biggest problem. People parents did not teach respect or they did not have that upbringing, most kids sadly now grow up they don't get raised and when they become adults they are monsters.

Black Lives Matter it seems only outside the womb! These same protesters have ignored the largest killer of blacks by far...abortion which has stagnated the black population, intentionally I believe!I am not sure we are in agreement except the the man's death was tragic. The mob killed a blank police officer last night yet, no protest, and not even much talk about it on here. Does David Dorn matter who was the police officer killed last night? They (BLM) want this and that, well I want to stop being labeled a bad person all the time from the media and organizations like BLM just because I am white, I want them to stop telling me I am bad because I am a conservative and support our President. If they (BLM) want change then they must change too not just one side.

During slavery in 1810 the percentage of blacks in the US was actually higher at 19% than it is now at 13.4%! Statistics say there are 1 thousand abortion by black women a day, so 10 thousand unborn black children have been killed since the startup of protests! Yet these same protester will gleefully go out and vote for the very perpetrators and supporters of what appears to be a black genocide?
This is true. It shouldn't be, but it is.I appreciate the sentiment being depicted but for the child on the right historically his reality and by extension his reaction would be the same in either scenario depicted.
You need to learn your facts. I do more than see my students for 50 minutes every couple days. Pre-virus I went to lunch and dinner with them, joined them one or two nights a week for trivia, and went hiking or biking with them on weekends. I have former students from up to 35 years ago who still keep in touch with me. One 2000 grad meets me every year for a pro baseball game—we have done six teams thus far in 3 states plus Canada. These aren’t just casual acquaintances, nor are they “monsters” as you claimed.Just because you see them for 50 mins every couple days doesn't mean you know everything just like I tutor college students and at the college they are fine but I have no idea what my students do otherwise. There are more than college students, there are kids who never went to college and there are high school students which can be much worse. You go to many places and there just is no good upbringing anymore, no respect at all.
Heck we get students come in who are very disrespectful and expect that they are entitled to tutoring. This whole new generation doesn't know what respect is by and large, yes they are those who do but they are in a minority. Most of it happens in the inner city where there is bad education and no fathers to show kids how to properly act which leads to the riots we are seeing. If the protestors are so peaceful than they should obey curfew and does as the police ask weather those kids like the police or not. Anyway sorry I was just droning on here.
Was this in response to me?What I said stands
