Water to Wine
John 2:1-10
And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: and both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mothereof Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkinsapiece Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bear it. When the ruler of the feast had ttastd the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew
the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine: and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
THE BREAKDOWN
The water is the word of God. Wine is the revelation of that word. When being filled with the word of God, they received the revelation.................
John 2:1-10
And when they wanted wine(revelation of the word), the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.(they have no revelation)
Jesus saith unto her, Woman(woman is the church), what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. (I have not been crucified and risen from the dead yet)
His mother saith unto the servants(his disciples/followers), Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
And there were set there six waterpots of stone(they were earthen vessels, followers),
Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots( the followers) with water(the word). And they filled them up to the brim.(with the word of God)
And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor(the religious leader) of the feast. And they bare it.(tell the religious leader the water/word you received)
When the governor had tasted the water that was made wine(he received the word and was given revelation of it), and knew not whence it was
he did not know where the revelation or understanding came from (but the servants(his disciples) which drew the water(which gave the word) knew that Jesus gave the revelation) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,(Jesus is our bridegroom)
And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine: and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
That which was worse was the old testement, The good wine is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the revelation thereof, which is given last.
Have a blessed day!
