Now as a person who is an old world creationist I found this interesting and all the informational perspectives are from Ph.D's om their respective fields.

Is it good? What problems or difficulties or disagreements do you have? How much do you think one's paradigm plays a role?

Not all of us have Netflix.

That said, every analysis I have read that wasn't tainted by assumptions and presuppositions based on worldview show it to be little more than slickly produced propaganda full of tired PRATTs.

A simple google search finds multiple rebuttals of the assertions made in the film, with many of those from christian scientists. Also interviewees in the film dissenting from misrepresentation of their position.

Like others, I do not have netflix so am unable to watch it in its entirety. But having watched the trailer on its website and from the reviews it sounds like the usual dishonest creationist propaganda.

Based on how much you guys trust Christian scientists, I'd say that video doesn't have anything to worry about.

To borrow the words from another post in this thread, perhaps their multiple rebuttals are "little more than slickly produced propaganda full of tired PRATTs"?

Indeed! And are "christian scientists" the same as scientists that believe in a creator? Only an atheist would spew such foolishness, since in reality they CANNOT possibly know there is no God (and if they say they can or do KNOW they utterly are irrational and illogical persons).

What does any of that have to do with the fact that Bungle_bear's comment simply points out that the assertions made in the video are not one's shared by all scientists who are Christian?
And any attempt to reply with the lines of "but they aren't Christian" will be taken as nothing more than an admission that you cannot respond in a meaningful manner.

Can't you see the ... um ... irony in his comment?

Evidently he overlooked it too.

You guys talk about how scientists who are Christians aren't qualified to discuss this and that ... then you turn around and say Christians who are scientists have found problems with the video.

Think about it.

I'm about as qualified to talk science as you guys say DI and ICR is; if I said the video had faults, would you believe me?

And yet no-one is saying that. What people have been saying is that Young Earth Creationist and Biblical Literalists who go around saying that they're scientists aren't qualified to discuss this and that, while actual scientists, who happen to be Christians, ARE allowed to discuss it.

A HUGE distinction.

And no, you're not qualified to talk about anything. Ever.

You have a strange definition of 'scientist'.

Well, I watched it.

They made virtually no attempt to address the obvious and many flaws with the flood. Instead they attempted to provide arguments in favor of a worldwide flood.

But the main reason it failed utterly is because it proved nothing. Even if we grant everything that they claimed, we only have physical evidence that is consistent with (but not positively indicative of) a plain reading of the Bible.

Other failures:

The fellow interviewed about starlight was very underwhelming. He presented no reason whatsoever that one should consider his claims. That's why he was placed toward the end when the narrator thought he'd established the Biblical paradigm.

A plain reading does not indicate a 6000-year-old universe. Does nobody know what begat means? Adam begat Jesus. That doesn't mean from Adam to Jesus was one generation.

The language argument was interesting but they didn't flesh it out and made no attempt to explain why (or even address the fact that) languages splinter off from one another.

I'm a bit surprised they didn't come at us with the Kalam Cosmological Argument or fine tuning, the latter of which being the entire sum of good theistic arguments. Perhaps fine tuning would be too off topic.

Basically it's anyone who appeals to the scientific method, demands evidence to the contrary of what the Bible says, and yaks about fallacies, strawmen, and so on and so forth.

And that's the positive side!

The negative side are those who ... in a nutshell ... don't investigate before they communicate.

That's a straw man of what people here claim scientists to be.

To quote you directly: Please show me, or feel free to retract

You have the divine patience of an angel! And I don't even believe in angels!

I was power training in a video game at the time, making and disassembling thousands of the same item. It was only slightly more tedious watching the video while performing my task than it would have been had I just stared blankly at the game the whole time.
