John 15:3
"You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
Out thoughts get twisted when we try to understand the character of God. It's hard to believe and except unconditional because our thoughts are subject to our past experiences and our conscience is filthy with guilt and condemnation.
Jesus came to show us the heart of the Father. If we can truly believe the characted of the Father what Jesus revealed it will wash us. It will change us. It will move us to be like Him.
Rom 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
If we believe in our heart we will be saved from the effects that sin had on our heart because it's the belief that has the power to cleanse us and change us.
There was a town that Jesus went to once where He could do no miracles because they did not believe. Belief empowers the word in our hearts.
