BSB, Exodus 16:

1 On the fifteenth day of the second month after they had left the land of Egypt, the whole congregation of Israel set out from Elim and came to the Desert of Sin [H5512],a which is between Elim and Sinai.

1 a The geographical name Sin  is related to Sinai  and should not be mistaken for the English word sin .

This was where God first provided manna and quail to the Israelites.

Later, Moses sent out spies in Numbers 13:

21 They went up and explored the land from the Desert of Zin [H6790] as far as Rehob, toward Lebo Hamath.

Wilderness or Desert of Sin was in the southern part of the Sinai peninsula, while Wilderness of Zin was in the north.
