Hello,
I'm not a Christian but I'm interested in studying religions.

I have found the following statement, attributed to Peter, in the Homilies of St. Clement:

"However, such a choice has occurred to you, perhaps, without you understanding or knowing my manner of life, that I use only bread and olives, and rarely pot-herbs;" (Homily of Clement IX chapter 6)

Could it be that Peter the apostle was a vegetarian? Just curious...

Fremen.

The bible says Peter and other disciples ate fish with Jesus. Also the Levitical laws required jews to partake the passover lamb.

So base on those, I'd say Peter was not a vegetarian.

I am a vegeterrian, and think that meat is nasty. I don't know why anyone would ever choose to eat that stuff. However, that probably comes from being raised vegeterrian.

But be it as it may, a small amount of meat (like what most of the world ate for most of recorded history) can be healthy. And some fish are very healthy (the healthiest of the meats by far, and getting to the level of nonmeat) if the pollution in their water and food supply isn't bad.

Definitely!

When we first became SDA's we were always invited home by somebody for Sabbath lunch and my mom would collect vege recipes--carrot and rice patties are my fav!--after 6 months my dad decided we had enough recipes and we could eat at home. I don't know what my mom did with the recipe (and maybe we didn't like it in the first place but were too polite to say anything.) but for the next 6 months we had the best fed dog (Princess) in the country!

I had ulcers in my late teen years till I went in for surgery in '85. Anyway, I learned to eat bland food with no spices, low salt, etc.. Now, I can stand the spicey stuff. Now I write letters to the soup makers--it's got too much salt in it! Once you put it in I can't take it out! Let us decide how much we want.
