Friends, we need to be about God's work while we can. We need to be reaching the lost for Him while we can. With Israel threatening a military strike against Iran because of their nuclear program, and Hamas pledging to destroy Israel. The time is close people. The whole Mid-East is a powder keg waiting for the fuse to be lit. But that's just my two-cents worth.

Amen, brother! We need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Things are getting so tense in the world. It's good that we as Christians were told it would be like this as the day of Christ drew near.Let's pray for for our nation, lost souls to come to Jesus, for Israel, and for each other! :amen: :amen:

If I may...
While the middle east is setting the stage to light up hotter than the 4th of July... these are things we are told must come to pass before the Day of the L-rd...

I may be remiss...but instead of praying for peace, my prayers are more along the lines of "Yea, L-rd, come quickly!"

Don't get me wrong, I don't endorse the lighting of the fuse over there...especially with my daughter heading that way... I do want to see my Messiah and worship at His feet.

I just came back from the Middle East. Certainly in Israel, one doesn't feel much tension or anxiety; maybe the calm before the storm. Or maybe there is just a confident acceptance that God is in control and so there is no need to worry, no matter what happens.

Certainly in Jerusalem, one is very much face to face with both religion and the politics of the region. Interestingly, unlike here, where the very existence of God is questioned, over there, no one (Christians, Jews or Arabs) doubts the reality of God; at issue is only which belief system is acceptable to Him.

I find myself being far more disappointed in Western countries when I see the masses of people that are oblivious to God, not realizing that a day of reckoning will eventually come- the old ignorance is bliss routine.

As for me, I have total confidence in the day to day, hour by hour reality that God is my guide, and that He is all I need to live, without worry or stress, in confidence and peace in this world, no matter where I live or travel. Those of you who worry and have not yet discovered the peace that Jesus brings should go to one of the on-line Bible sites like http://www.biblegateway.com/ and do some reading- here's a good verse to start with:

Matthew 6:33-34

33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Semper Fi, Gwenyfur!

Excellent post!

Time is close, no doubt about that. I find myself wanting the Lord to come back quickly. Some days I just can not take the news. I get angry, sad and discouraged.
Semper Fi SteelMagnolia!

I too have days like that, but find comfort in knowing that G-d's plan and will won't be set aside for the sake of evil.

Excellent verse!
I also rely on this one:
Revelation 20:4-5 KJV said:
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Point taken. I understand. May Father bring peace to Israel, but may He also send Jesus to bring us home, too!

Name me a single moment in human history without wars and rumors of wars.

But never before in history have we had nuclear weapons systems capable of destroying mankind and making the entire earth uninhabitable, and "religious" zeolots (soldiers of the Devil, I believe) who are probably prepared to use them and are fanatically dedicated to destroying Jews and Westerners, even if it means their own destruction.

What is quite boggling is that today, we can actually, through satellite imagery, follow the progress of events like Iran's nuclear development on the Internet; check out this site, if you haven't already done so, and be prepared for a sobering reality check: http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/world/iran/natanz-imagery3.htm

Natanz is only one of numerous very active nuclear development sites in Iran; check out the others through links on this page on Global Security's WEB site: http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/world/iran/nuke-fac.htm

But as someone already pointed out, as Christians, we already know that all this is coming, so there is no need to be worried. Instead, think of these events as just God's gentle little reminder to keep reading your Bible and stay true to His Word.

Why do people pray that God comes back for us quickly? I think that that particular prayer is just a bit selfish. We should be praying No not yet God there are too many that are going to go to hell and have more pain than we could ever dream of. I want God to come back yes but I think that us Christians should be praying for Him to give us more time so more lives can come to kno Him.
