  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

anyone else in this boat? I would really like someone to talk to who is waiting to TTC. We have a few reasons for waiting.

*my weight needs to get under control, I am over 300 lbs(really need to lose at least 100lbs if not more before we try)
*I need to heal from 4 surgeries in 4 years(major issue, went into preterm labor at 33 weeks, labor stopped twice with my last daughter)
*we are researching gender swaying
*need pay down some debt(not a deciding factor just something we would like to do)
*need to work through some mental issues I have been having with gender disappointment and depression

anyway those are our reasons for waiting, though we are using NFP, to prevent pregnancy, yet are welcome to what God has planned.

Hey Pegasus *hugs* with all you are going through...

I know it's probably been thought thru and that, but are you sure it's a good idea to wait (even though they are legitimate issues!) with your age and that? I'm sorry if it cam out rude, just knowing that at 23 we will be having a minimum of one year between trying and getting pregnant (as an absolute minimum... been 10 months now pretty much, and will be another 2-3 months til I can try again after the last operation (since I physically can't until then!)). Just worth asking I guess!

nope not rude at all. We have thought about it and are ok with waiting. if it happens it happens if not that is ok too. We have three girls that were conceived on the first try or by protection failure. Early 30s isn't really all that old anymore, LOL, though the risk of multiples goes up, but we are fine with that too, I am a twin. my doctor doesn't feel as though we will have any problems so it is all go for waiting.

My son was born when I was 38 (he's 7 months now). Except for low amniotic fluid (but not dangerously low), everything was normal. He is healthy, and happy. Not even colicy!! Even sleeps through the night, and has for a while.
They tried to induce me 2 days before my due date because of the low fluid. But the little bugger was determined to be born exactly on his due date!! And he was!!

My grandmother had a child at 47!! And this is long before any fertility treatments or anything. My aunt is very healthy, and very smart!! And my grandmother will be 102 years old this September!!

That's cool Pegasus, I thought you would've but just checking. I'm completely aware that 30 isn't too old :p My parents were 30 when they had me, and were 37 when they had my youngest brother, and that was 20ish years ago now.

For some reason (and I have no idea how... I think I'm still used to the old "how many kids you have" style of CF!) I missed the 3 kids already (I'd realised you'd had at least one though!). I feel silly....

LOL I know how that goes. I still can't wrap my head around three kids! I think the last time we talked over IM I was pregnant with or just had my second one.

I know :) It's been so so long since we properly talked :) I think it was about when you second was due that I finished up.

I am glad things went well for you with those three though.... :) Hubby and I (he was reason i left CF, it was taking over my life.... some weeks was 30-40 hours of moderating when it was at it's hardest....) have been married 3 years 9 months now :) I'm not sure if you've seen our story with TTC so far (PCOS, and laproscopy confirmed endo this week... only 9 months so far though!).

Yes we are waiting because..

- We need to wait at least two more months since our miscarriage but we want to wait more
- I would like to lose at least 22lbs, if not close to 42-52lbs.
- I'm going to work on some health issues during this time and also on getting stronger

I haven't started my cycles again so NFP is out for now. Actually, we haven't been intimate in that way for about 6 weeks!! For a while it was killing me but I'm okay now. Mostly. I think I'll be ready soon. I didn't quit bleeding until just recently so we've been waiting. I'm nervous about pain and also about getting pregnant.
